  1. McDermott racing should be able to help you out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Trinity 421 P/V, no porting, Mikuni VM36's, Vforce 3's, 21cc domes, shearer small bore inframes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I see that some people cut the plugs and some don't, I've never cut mine. It seems better to cut them for a more accurate reading. You learn something new everyday. Thanks for the info Larry.
  4. I'll be the first to admit when I'm wrong dude. I apologize if I came of like an asshole but I thought a plug chop was done differently. Having the same setup as you, I'm really interested to see the outcome of any changes you try. And I'll try to stop wearing pocket T-shirts but it's gonna be hard man....real hard.
  5. Wow. Just looks A LITTLE LEAN is all. Hope you figure it out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I wanna say it looks a little lean. How in the hell did you cut that plug? Not to bust your chops but you do know what people mean by plug chop right? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I have the same 421 setup as you but with mikuni vm36's. I had the pj's but they weren't enough. A friend of mine that I bought the top end from ran your carbs with it and liked them as far as know. I believe he had the same jetting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Both myself and someone else have shearer in frames and his doesn't lag as bad as mine but just enough to notice. Thought it might be the pipes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Just a question here but how is the low end (1/8-1/4 throttle) feel? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. A friend of mine has them on his 485 and it runs great and the pj's just weren't doing it so I got 3 vm36's for a good price, changed the mains and the pilots thought I had em set pretty good but now the low end 1/4 bogs and then takes off like a bat outa hell. Got home and checked em out to find the needles and the needle jets were for a richer setting (snowmobile). I'm having a little trouble getting the float valves out but I'm gonna guess they are the 1.3 and not the 3.3 that I need. Working on these mikunis and learning the different types of pre sets is making it a little easier. If I ever do buy a set of carbs they will most likely be brand new so I don't have someone else's problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I got shearer small bore in frames now. Just tried to keep the price down but that shit never works. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I have another friend with a 485 trinity PV with the same carbs and he doesn't have any of the problems I have. And yes Larry you are 100% correct! I gotta gut them and put in everything new. Just wish I had the money for brand new shiny carbs lol.
  13. 160's or 155's for the mains. A buddy of mine is running his 485 trinity with almost the same jetting. I keep telling him to go to 36's.
  14. I wound up finding 3 vm36's from a sled, think it was a 600 triple skidoo. I've been having some problems with low end so I did some research and fell WAY DOWN the rabbit hole man!!! I didn't realize there was going to be a difference with ALL the jets. But anyway my jetting is as follows, main 240, pilot 35, jet needle 6DEY4, needle jet 286-P-0. I haven't been able to find the #'s on the needle valve set but I'm guessing its not what I want and last but not least the air jet wasn't in any of the carbs. Any info on other jetting for this set up would be greatly appreciated.
  15. The reason for wanting to go to Mikuni's is the overall size of the carb. Aren't the TM's the same size as the Kehin's?
  16. Hey everyone first of all, awesome site! I have a Cheetah 421 4mil pv with no porting vforce3 reeds trinity head with 22cc domes and FMF Gnarlys with old but freshly repacked powercores, 200watt stator and PJ 34's. Looking to get some Mikunis but don't know much about them or what size to get, anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be awesome!
