I just bought the 440ex. Got a smoking deal. Ordered a set of works for my shee. The Elka s on the 400 are 18". Long travel arms

Like it says. Will the Elka s bolt up to +2 +1 a-arms? I have a chance to buy some for cheap

All joints are good. Does not come with tie rods or bolts. Missing upper sleeve and one end cap. One dent on lower right side a arm... See picture. $150 shipped

Install a new crankshaft, piston, and rings. Did a leak down test and was all good. I noticed large amounts of what seemed to be carbon where the head pipe meets the silencer as well as black shit from the silencer. Drained the oil and it seems a bit darker than it was. Still the same amount of oil. Could there be a leak between the crank compartment and the gear box? How can I know if this is correct. I though maybe the black carbon was from the rich mixture I was using to break her in? Is it normal to have lots of black carbon at break in. Plugs are brown. What the easiest way to tell?

So if the leak down test passed I shouldn't be getting oil through the crank seal or case? The gear compartment is vented so if the seal was bad I would have failed the leak down. Okay makes sense. What proper break in procedure?

Bel-ray call for 50:1?

I'm using Bel-ray mc-1 25:1. My clymers manual said to run rich at first and then swap over to regular 50:1. A leak down test wouldn't let me know if there was a leaky crank seal because the clutch case was on at the time. The grayish oil I have drained may just be my clutch. But there is quite a bit of black oil leaking from head pipe and silencer.

For sure you can. I think it's around 19cc where you can't run pump gas. 20cc should be fine. With 21 cc domes I'm getting around 145 psi each cylinder

Leak down test is always done after rebuild, that's a given

21 for the domes. Not stock. It's piped, time advanced, pod filters, 280 main and 30 pilot jet

One on the slides was stuck. It's all good. Please remove post

280 main 30 pilot jet, Coolhead, Fmf exhaust, pod filters. I had a hard time getting fuel into the jugs after getting my cylinders bored and wiseco pistons installed. I opened the plugs and dumped fuel down the jugs. Started right away but will only idle if I have the choke out all the way. I know this means it's lean but with a 30 pilot? Air adjust screw is all the way in. Do I need a larger main? Sounds good when the choke is fully out. Even if it's half way it's idling pretty high. The carb slides are fully down and in the correct carb. Choke tube is connected between the carbs

Alright. I have the engine out of the bike which makes it easier. I can tip the engine up so the o-rings stick to the cool head better. So torque specs are the same with a cool head. 20 ft/lbs?

I've got the studs installed

That's what I figured. Do you use gasket maker on the threads?

I'm slapping a pro design cool head on tomorrow. All I have is stock head nuts. Do I need acorn nuts? I hear a lot of ppl have issues with leaks. I was thinking of just using 1211 case sealer on the nut threads?

Where can I find the best +2+1 j-arms? I see fireball has them on eBay but does anyone on here sell them?
