  1. Yeah, I like those. Any trouble kicking it?
  2. Looking for some advice on some lowered foot pegs. I had some AC nerf bars with integrated foot pegs on my YFZ and it made it much more comfortable. I think they were moved down and back. I'm 6'5" and have a hard time shifting because my size 13 boot is so thick and doesn't fit comfortably on the peg and under the shifter. Anyone know who makes em? I worry about the pegs interfering with the kick starter. Any other advice to make it more comfortable for my height? Thanks in advance. I'm new to the banshee world and ride only in the sand.
  3. Still not convinced that it was a head gasket in the first place but at least I'll be able to be 100% sure from here on out. I'm sure I will have plenty more dumb questions down the road. Have a 5 day trip planned. Hopefully there's enough time to get everything back together the right way. Won't rush it, there will be plenty of toys available. I will report back after New Years.
  4. And reliability is big since the reason for this change is because of poor reliability. I'll be pissed if I blow a head ring with a new head. Guy swears he never had a problem with heads. Head is almost 20 years old.
  5. Thinking of a chariot head and keeping the 19mm domes. What would you recommend for dome size? I don't mind burning 110 as long as it's worth it. I want the most bang for the buck. It will be a duner not a dragster or racer. It will only go as fast as my balls allow.
  6. Tapped the domes out. They are 19's. Just two O rings? I was expecting more.
  7. And the turd Figured out pictures. I'll repost the head pics. Oops. That was supposed to be the bike.

  9. I took some pictures. Need to try to upload them to BHQ. Looks like that though. Silver
  10. Looked ok. There are some spots that could have been leaking on the front of the left cyl. I seem to have a tough time adding pictures on another forum I'm on but let me see what I can do. I take back the one piece part. They are pressed In there. I was under the impression that they were somewhat loose in the head.
  11. Seems to be a billit head. Not sure if that would distinguish a difference from stock. The domes and head seem to be one piece.
  12. I pulled the head and it has a gasket, not rings. The top of the head is lathed with "Trinity Stage IV" with scallops. It does have the grooves in the domes.
  13. Ok, so head and domes. Cool head ok? That's whAt some friends run and seem to have good luck with. Not sure about the internals nor do I really care to tear it down to find out what it has. The guy I bought it from is not the do it yourself type. More of the he can afford to have someone else work on it type. Will not knowing what it has for piston/rod/crank be a problem when trying to match up a new head and domes?

  15. And thanks sandking for letting me know my seal was in backwards.
  16. Windy has given me one piece of information. Trinity is shit. Got it. The rest of his input has been shit talking. That not why I checked in here. It was to get some help with something I, admittedly, know very little about. Just want to ride man.
  17. All right, I'm just gonna ignore you from here on out. Thanks for your negative input.
  18. So either he hooked me up with a good deal or he hosed me with a 900$ heap of bolts and scrap. Every bike I have ever had has been a money pit in some way so I'm somewhat prepared. If it turns out to be a pile, at least I can get out of it. I found a more recent recipt of a $1500 top to bottom build with crank, rods, bored cylinders and pistons from 2002. So I guess it has more than just the trinity heads and turbo domes. Hopefully I get a chance to do a few tests in the next couple days. Should I just order top end gasket and o ring kit from trinity or get just the o rings and get another gasket set? I understand that it's the concensus that trinity is junk but it's what I have to work with so I appreciate your help and patience with me as I work through this.
  19. He's always run 110. Radiator hose on order and home made leak down tester in the works. Will do compression test after leak down test.
  20. I don't really get it. I have the stack of receipts on this bike from day one. Trinity put the heads on it in 1994. It's an 87. It's not an overly built bike, I think 19mm domes and some other stuff, t-5's, +2 jp racing swing arm, +2 j arms and wider axel. I'll have to check the rest. He hasn't done shit to it and he's had it new since 88. They are a duneing family with buggys and Rzr and plenty of quads. They shake their heads when I ask em about head gaskets. I guess I'll have to try it out and do a leak down test, if it's bad swap then gasket and if it gives me headaches, I can switch to a cool head or something. I won't switch til it becomes a problem tho. Thanks for the insight and I hope to find that it's not as big of a problem as you say. You're probably right but it's to early for me to give up. I bought this thing running for less than a grand so I don't mind throwing a little money at it. If it gives me grief, I can either swap out the heads or sell it off and stick to wake boarding. This is just to fill in some time in the off season. So is there a head gasket kit? Anything special needed for the crap ass ball sucking heads I have? Other than new heads of course.
  21. So can I get some advice on a head gasket replacement? I will need to order parts. Do I get oem gaskets or something aftermarket and who do you guys recommend for that? Site sponsor? What parts are needed for a head gasket replacement? I am getting ready to start a leak down test kit. It has trinity stage IV heads.
  22. So pump seal was installed backwards. Put it back together. Waiting on new radiator hose. Could that seal being improperly installed cause the pressure build up? Haven't done a leak down test yet. Hoping that was the root of the problem, other than the trinity stuff of course.
