87 with some stuff on it. Still learning about it. Way faster than my old modded YFZ.

  1. Yeah, I like those. Any trouble kicking it?
  2. Looking for some advice on some lowered foot pegs. I had some AC nerf bars with integrated foot pegs on my YFZ and it made it much more comfortable. I think they were moved down and back. I'm 6'5" and have a hard time shifting because my size 13 boot is so thick and doesn't fit comfortably on the peg and under the shifter. Anyone know who makes em? I worry about the pegs interfering with the kick starter. Any other advice to make it more comfortable for my height? Thanks in advance. I'm new to the banshee world and ride only in the sand.
  3. Still not convinced that it was a head gasket in the first place but at least I'll be able to be 100% sure from here on out. I'm sure I will have plenty more dumb questions down the road. Have a 5 day trip planned. Hopefully there's enough time to get everything back together the right way. Won't rush it, there will be plenty of toys available. I will report back after New Years.
  4. And reliability is big since the reason for this change is because of poor reliability. I'll be pissed if I blow a head ring with a new head. Guy swears he never had a problem with heads. Head is almost 20 years old.
  5. Thinking of a chariot head and keeping the 19mm domes. What would you recommend for dome size? I don't mind burning 110 as long as it's worth it. I want the most bang for the buck. It will be a duner not a dragster or racer. It will only go as fast as my balls allow.
  6. Tapped the domes out. They are 19's. Just two O rings? I was expecting more.
  7. And the turd Figured out pictures. I'll repost the head pics. Oops. That was supposed to be the bike.

  9. I took some pictures. Need to try to upload them to BHQ. Looks like that though. Silver
  10. Looked ok. There are some spots that could have been leaking on the front of the left cyl. I seem to have a tough time adding pictures on another forum I'm on but let me see what I can do. I take back the one piece part. They are pressed In there. I was under the impression that they were somewhat loose in the head.
  11. Seems to be a billit head. Not sure if that would distinguish a difference from stock. The domes and head seem to be one piece.
  12. I pulled the head and it has a gasket, not rings. The top of the head is lathed with "Trinity Stage IV" with scallops. It does have the grooves in the domes.
  13. Ok, so head and domes. Cool head ok? That's whAt some friends run and seem to have good luck with. Not sure about the internals nor do I really care to tear it down to find out what it has. The guy I bought it from is not the do it yourself type. More of the he can afford to have someone else work on it type. Will not knowing what it has for piston/rod/crank be a problem when trying to match up a new head and domes?
