  1. Im in glen burnie, md. I've rode at wicomico a few times but it gets so expensive. Takes away from our toy money!! I am going to take a trip to trevorton for sure. Wouldn't mind meeting up with someone who knows the place. I'd hate to pay the permit fee and end up riding / parking somewhere we'd get in trouble tow'd or whatever.
  2. Cleaned up ready for install hopefully tomorrow.
  3. Parts are here!! Any tips on installing the rings? I feel like I have to bend them to much putting them in the grooves.
  4. is treverton open to the public? I have been hearing a lot about it and interested in giving it a try. I am in md and not too far. Is is legal?
  5. sorry this should've went in riding forum....
  6. LOL - I want his radar gun - we will set world records with that thing!
  7. I noticed a lot of people talking about coal hills riding. Seen some pics and it looks like a lot of fun. Is it open to public or do you need permits? Just looking for some new places to meet new riders, MD 5-0 is locking down our local spots and $50 a hit at our tracks are taking away from my mod money!!!
  8. I am in maryland and always wanted to go. Are you planning on taking a camper and all? Keep us posted! I thought about doing it next year when my daughter is 7. 7 is old enough for a banshee right

  11. Just got done cleaning the head .... Used sea foam, carb cleaner and 2000 grit on some of the stubborn area, gasket scrapper for gasket. http://i893.photobucket.com/albums/ac136/diesel041511/null_zpsb7c12756.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  12. Thanks for the help....looks like I will do a light wet sand 2000 grit on the pistons and use the gasket remover. I will make sure to take my time and be careful. I mispoke when I said my top end was coming. I was trying to get away with rings only because my pistons were in such good shape. I ordered all new gaskets, rings, and plugs. I also going to take the time to put anti-seize on all the studs because they def took some torque to remove. I will post pics when I am done! Thanks all
  13. my top end is due in thursday- any tips and tricks to cleaning top of pistons, head, and old gaskets stuck on cylinder? This is my first rebuild so any tips is greatly appreciated! Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  14. Thanks for all the help guys. Got my photobucket account , here is a try to post some of the pictures. Also, I searched and searched for the forum thread on how to build and perform a leak down tester/test for a banshee. If someone has that link handy I would greatly appreciate it. Here are the photos of cylinder, pistons, and head. What is the best for cleaning the piston and head as well as where the new gaskets will go?
  15. Thanks i will def go pick a new one up. Would you do rings or a complete top end, here are a few pics. I got to learn better how to post multiple pics in one reply!! Ill post pics of pistons and cylinders as soon as i figure out how to upload multiple pics. Thanks all- appreciate the help for sure
  16. Ok - thank you. I will head over today. God gift cards so couldnt be better. But now i have the cylinders and head off lol. The walls look fine and piston looks good as well. Should i do a set of rings and new gaskets while its all open? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

  18. Rings or entire Top End?

  19. So I am not going crazy on this one. I have another build I am doing frame up. This is my toy around the farm banshee. Can I get away with just rings? Should I do entire top end?
  20. Hi Bansheehq - been hooked on reading on this site for months. Ipad follows me every break I get, can't seem to stay off. So figured I would start posting. Here is the new banshee I just got. 2000 - all stock except tires, never been opened up! I knew it was going to be a little bit of a project but got it for what I thought was a good price. Here is a picture of it. I haven't quite figured how to post multiple pictures but I will learn. -Bike ran good - starts 1st or 2nd kick -Ran a compression test and around 70 lbs. of compression consistent on both sides - Ouch!!
  21. Where do I start on the rebuild????

Go to the Technical Info. thread. On the first page there is a thread created by BigRed350x called "Banshee Bottem End Assembly Walk through". Step-by-step guide to putting one of these things back together.
