  3. craigslist is a bust. Looking on there forums. theres a couple set of Toomeys for sale, but not having much luck anywhere else Ebay blows. Anyone finds a deal PM me
  4. Yeah, I am in pursuit of some Toomey T5s now... Just trying to find the best deal on a set of used ones.
  5. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume this is no longer available?
  6. Sent ya a PM on the Toomey T5s..
  7. Sent you a PM about the Toomey pipes...
  8. What the heck is a EEK needle ? looks like I have 50 / 160 now. I think I'm going to get her back in running state and take her out with current jets, put it on the richest setting and see how it runs. If too Rich, I'll lean it out as much as I can and plug chop again and see how things go before making Jet changes. I'm also thinking with this thing .060 over and having that carb on it that I need a set of pipes bad, but anyone think I'll be ok with the stockers?
  9. from my Google Searches this appears to be a PWK 35MM carb....
  10. WELL, I finally got around to a compression test this weekend and it was NOT good. Top end rebuild is in dire need. Its already .040 over, so I'm going to need to go .060 over judging by the play in the piston. I already ordered a top end rebuild kit with forged pistons from Wiseco Also, Here's the single carb that is on this thing: Anyone have any idea what size that thing is and what jets I should be running? Ball park ish? Im at sea level and its about 80 degrees F , I run 93 octaine fuel. The jets in it now are 50 for the main jet and 170 on the other jet. Any advise would be appreciated.
  11. 68 Camaro Big Block , 99 LS1 Camaro , 85 Monte SS that I did a 87 Grand National Drivetrain swap on (did it myself in a 1 car garage.. fun times) and a 2005 WRX STi (didnt drag this one much, had more fun in the snow with it). I'm no stranger to tools and working on stuff, thats for sure. As an update, I'm going to pick up a compression tester tonight and possibly a leak down tester this week. Harbor Freight has a low PSI one that seems like it should do the trick. I'm going with a craftsman compression tester. These are tools I should have anyway, I've got everything else under the sun, why not those.
  12. This is great info and is appreciated. I will do a compression and leak down test as soon as I can. Im in the process of moving (hence the lack of funds at the moment). So once I get settled in a week or two I'll try to get her a checkup. As for selling her, not gonna happen. I just need to learn, im not giving up. Im here for an education. I've known nothing but four strokes but love the power of a two stroke and know I can make a monster out of her eventually if she's got good compression and no leaks. I'm a car guy gone motorsports guy (mostly because it is MUCH cheaper,,, nobody even TRY to argue that with me, I've spent $70k in the last 15 years on car shit). Cars are way too expensive to mess with. A clutch for my car was $1200... I have more fun on the quads anyway than I ever did draggin cars so I need to learn all about my new hobby and how to work on them. All the replies are appreciated guys, keep em rollin.
  13. Yes, just mostly trail ride, but I'm a speed junky so I'd like her to run as good as possible and have some serious nuts. I'll have the means to buy parts this winter, was just hoping to get her running as good as possible with the parts I have now for the rest of this season.
  14. yeah, hear mixed reviews on that single carb setup. What would I switch to ? dual stock carbs seems like a pain in the ass.
  15. refferring to what? The quad - No.
  16. this forum is not very productive...

  18. I just picked up a 2000 Banshee. Not new to quads, but new to 2 strokes and the banshee. She's a pain in the ass to start for the most part and doesnt like to idle once she's warmed up. Down low and all midrange she seems to scream pretty good, but top end kinda blows. About 64Mph top speed.... I THINK the idle and starting issue could have to do with cleaning the carb and possible a pilot jet but not really sure and want some GOOD opinions on it. The exhuast is stock, its has a foam air filter and a drilled out air box. It also is running a trinity Stage IV single carb converstion kit. Not really sure how big the carb is or how the hell to tell Any advice on where I should start would be appreciate but I just want her to idle better and make sure she's jetted properly. I know I need a set of pipes on this bad girl, but I'm buyin a house right now so that's not in the cards just yet. Would appreciate the help, thanks in advance! Gary.
