  2. Is there anyone that lives near Oly that wants to go ride on Friday? The bike is running good (for now) and the weather is gonna be nice (no puddles!) and all my friends can't go.   4. looks just like the one in the picture. I bought it off here a little while back, the guy said it was a +6 went to put it on the bike…. its a +12 Its used but you really can't tell powder coated silver. I paid $100.00 plus shipping or trade for?
  5. So I had this same issue. Was at dunefest last year riding along and left cylinder spark plug came all the way out. Stuck it back in tight kept riding never had another issue and still riding it. Runnin +4 timing and 20cc domes and 110. Maybe mine was loose?
  6. if youre cheap or cant get to the parts store take a small propane torch to those plugs and burn all the crap off and get em nice and hot and put them pack in. should start just fine!
  7. Does anyone know what type of CFM these carbs run? And its gonna be a dune bike. Some dragging but mostly hill climbs.
  8. After pricing everything out and thinking I wanted to stay with stock cylinders I just said fuck it and were going with the cub! Now with a 4mil cub agressive dune port do I have to run CPI/Shearer pipes or can I run toomeys without a significant power loss. Its got fmf now but those are getting pulled off polished and sold to the lowest bidder (I HATE those pipes) Also Its got stock carbs, are they capable of supplying enough fuel for the 4mil cub? Im assuming my jetting will be ridiculously big but with they work? im TRYING not to drop 2500 bucks into this. Although I can its no problems I just dont want to cause Im stingy. If I can do it for less I will! Thanks fellas

  10. so when they port for say a dune port or a drag port is that the same porting as matching port timing when stroking the motor? or is that an entirely different port job. I understand the concept of porting and what it does I'm just not familiar with it being done on a banshee. But thanks for the good info! And I was just looking at RDZ and they had a used NOSS super cub head for sale which is why I asked about that

  12. So after my trip to the dunes this past weekend I realized how bad I want to stroke my banshee! Ive decided so far to go with a 4mil crank and port my stock cylinder rather than go with a cub ( trying to keep it on a smaller budget) I had a few questions though. Since Im a cheap ass I'm gonna source as many used parts as I can except for crank and pistons. Are Cub heads interchangeable with stock cylinders? I found a couple used cub cool heads but I don't know if they are going to work. So in order to get the clearance the domes need to get "cut" but does this need to be done at a shop or can you buy domes that are ready to go for a 4mil stroker? So correct me if I'm wrong but I think all I need is: 4mil crank 115 rods with tz bearings 795 series pistons? Domes/ Cool head Port job Clutch/lock out pipe reed etc What is case port matching? and what is triple exhaust porting and is it necessary/worth doing Thanks fellas!
  13. ...thats definitely nine bikes bro... lol Well this weekend was a hoot besides the park where I cracked the case cover on the 450r... I can't figure out how to post a picture but this is what happened. I was kicking it over to start it and she popped back hard 3/4 the way down the stroke and the case cover split. Is this common with honda 450's? Anyways that was not a good start to my weekend of riding. Pretty pissed she never even saw sand.

  15. TADA! 27.5 pilots 310 Mains and 1 turn out on the screw and she screams. F-ing finally haha Just in time to put her in the trailer. I think I may move my needle up one to the middle but as she sits now she's dunable. Thanks for all the input!
  16. For testing purposes, if the screws are all the way in you would want to go up a size in your pilots so if they were all the way out you would want to go down a size in pilots. So I got 27.5's and Ill go back to 1.5 turns out and see where we go from there.
  17. Don't have time for a leak down test. Choke tube is in place and looks good. I got 27.5's today so I'm gonna put those in. I turned my airscrews out 5 turns and that made it a little better so I think the jets should help. Although my throttle just started sticking out of no where. This shit is getting worse and worse
  18. I shot ether at both ends of the carb and at the intake boots with no change. I would assume if there was a leak the idle would go up and it didn't. Ive messed with the screws with no change I think I'm going to keep backing it out more and more to see if that makes it better then drop to the 27.5. When Im running it and pull the choke to the first click it makes it worse which would lead me to believe that I need to go down in my pilot size from 30. Im going to pick up the pilots today and try to get them in tonight and see if that helps. And the plugs are new but Ill pick up more since Im gonna bring a few sets down to Winchester Bay with me this weekend.
  19. So Ive got an update. With the 310 mains, 30 Pilots, needle in the 2nd from bottom, it is a little better but it still bogs out in the beginning of the throttle. If Im going from a dead stop it just sputters and bogs erratically until it gets up in the rpm and then hits power band out of no where. I tested for leaks and I don't have any leaks especially not on the reed boots/intake. I can pick up some 27.5's tomorrow I just don't know if its gonna help cause its doing the same thing as when I had 25's in it. Im just at a loss here I feel like installing reeds shouldn't be such a pain in the ass.
  20. What premix do you think I should run with that? I was running like 50:1 and then mixed 32:1 and seemed like I started having issues. And where is the air leak do you think? It seemed like it all went back together just fine.
  21. The other thing is I put 310 mains in it with the 30 pilots and it was hard to start. Normally it starts on the first kick and now I gotta hold the throttle and kick it 2 or 3 times. I just tried to move the needle clip position It was in the 2nd from the top position so I moved it one more so its all the way on top and put it all back together and it won't even start now so Im just over it. I think Im just gonna put it all back the way it was with the stock reeds, 280 and 25's. It just ergs me that I can't figure it out. A couple more days of this and she's getting sold for another 450r =]
  22. The only part that doesn't make sense is it was fine when I took it out around the house and down the road. Thats why I thought maybe it was my Ratio cause thats the only thing that changed since i put reeds in
  23. So I got an 01 Banshee, it has FMF SST pipes and Turbine II silencers and no air box just K&N Filter. It ran great pulled well throughout the power band. I put in a set of Boyesen Pro series reeds and took it down the street and around the yard a bit and it ran fine. I picked up some Formula K2 premix and mixed it 32:1 and went to hit some trails the next weekend and thats where i had problems. I let it warm up for at least 15 minutes and we started down the trail and everything was fine. Then it started bogging out and I thought it was fouling the plugs or something cause I was puttin up this trail in 2nd but we got out on a loggin road and i opened it up and kept it high in the power band but that didn't do anything. It had 280 Mains and 25 (stock) pilots I figured I needed to go up in my pilots since it was bogging out off idle so I just threw some 30's in it and it didn't fix a thing. I then went back to 40:1 thinking that may be the issue and that didn't fix it either. So Im kind of stumped Im about to take the reeds out and put the stock ones back in cause I just want this damn thing to run. Im headed to Winchester Bay at the end of the week and I need to get this figured out!!! HELP! Thanks fellas Jason
