  1. I think you're right. Because no matter what at the end of the day, i don't think anyone can compete unless its a bigger Banshee. Thanks to all for replies thus far,,,
  2. I ride it on the street, this was where i raced the second time. When on pavement, for sure im spinning tires out....but still...Just not what i was expecting
  3. Currently have Sedona Bazooka's 21/7/10 20/11/9
  4. Just a clean up port by Jeff....
  5. Hey Guys, First and foremost I want to explicitly stress I am not a banshee guru as some are, but feel I do have some experience with the Banshee. Now, I recently built a 421 serval from FAST. Currently running 35PWK, PC Pipes, V3 Reeds, Pods, lock up clutch, 14/41 gearing,+2 A Arms,+4 Timing , 160m/48p , CEL 3rd from top. Carbs synced with fast tool, runs real nice. Problem is its, not that fun to me anymore. I know it seems odd, but I was expecting to push the throttle, and feel like I was going to flip. Just hasent happend! Now in month four. After upgrading from a stock banshee with pipes and reeds, it seems to me that stocker was more fun to ride. Now, i suspected it was me, so I raced my uncle with his stock with pipes and reeds banshee, and completely destroyed him by 3-4 lengths, but yet still his quad feels more tourqey.. I don't get it, am I expecting too much? When I ride his banshee it almost feels like it wants to toss me off, yet he doesn't stand a chance against me in a race! Could it be I'm just spinning tires, my extended a arms, why am I not in awe like so many of you serval owners? Please note I would never give it up, I love it...but I just feel like my thousands of dollars invested into upgrades , the serval seems a little tame. I need to ride a serval that is complete done up and compare, unfournateley I just don't see many where I currently ride. Maybe it's just me, who knows. Sorry for the long rant. Eric
  6. Hey Guys & Gals, Still relatively new to the banshee world, and want to send shutouts to you guys for making this whole experience a blast. With that said, got a new 421 serval from FAST (assembled correctly i hope) after fighting with the jets i still cant quite get it right. Have a 48p/155m, cel neddle 3rd clip, PC pipes, 35mm PWK, 6" Pods, +4 timing, The main issue is after my break in period , the quad all of a sudden started making a weird noise from the stator side. Not sure what it is, but sounds like a lubrication issue. Look at the video and tell me what you guys think, sometimes i just want to give up trying to get these things running tip top.... <iframe width="1280" height="720" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/2V7LKW0A_7I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  7. Yea, im thinking to completely ditch the current wiring set up and go to something a little more reliable!
  8. Whats so odd is i swore up and down i was running rich based on how my plugs looked, and the hiccuping during WOT. Don't these look kinda rich?
  9. Ok, great.. Didn't know cool heads didn't have gaskets. O, and i pulled the head because i just had to see for myself what was down in there!
  10. Oh ye Banshee experts! I need help again, as you guys make owning a Banshee easier for the masses. I purchased a used shee few months back (see my other posts) and finally decided to pop the head off. Why did i do this? i was riding one day, it started reving out of control and driving on its own. Initially when i got the bike the stop/run switch didn't work but the lights did. No issue, i was happy that i could at least ride. Long story short, quad died on me 2 miles out from my home, and i said to myself has to be something in the set up. Pulled the carbs, had a crazy clogged pilot jet. Switched that out as i already thought i was running rich, no start. Kicks and kicks, nothing. Spark test, no spark. Used the Cllymer manual, followed all steps possible, and realized the guy who had the quad did something with the electrical system. Now, i have no clue what the issue could be, but i no for sure the stop start switch does not work, tested it with multimeter to verify. Coil assembly provided good test results on primary leads, but secondary had no action. So, that with no spark, i'm leaning towards a new coil. I have no clue what else it would be as the wires seem spliced in so many places. Take a look at these images and please try and help me out. Once again to all of you guys, THANKS.... Why does the piston look pitch black? Is that coolant all over the place normal? This was what the head looked like. Had some o-ring type thing, not sure if that's normal, but from that iv read and seen, should i have a head gasket? Now the wiring issue. In the Clymer is says to check main switch wires B and B/R my set up does not have that, all i see is Brown/Black/Black+White attched. There are two wires not in use, a Red and Brown. Any ides? This is from the ignition main switch, does not have such thing in the manual! The wire goes all the way to the other side (left side on quad) and is connected like this These are also some various unknowns... For the record, bike has not run right since i got it. Moved from an elevation of 1100ft above sea level to 238ft . When I got it, it had and has: -Full PC pipes and silencers -V3 Reeds -Chariot 2-1 Intake -Uni Clamp on air filter -After market head (not sure from who) -PWK 39mm single carb -160 Main/ 60 Slow Guy said it was bored .40 over with wiseco pistons and had 4 hours on it. I have no way of verifying that. Did a compression test, and i get around 110 after 4-5 kicks on a completely cold engine. I get up to 120 after almost 10 kicks on cold engine. That's all the info i think i can share until my next problem! Any help greatly appreciated.
  11. The main is 160 from what it says... My question is did the guy before me not notice that?
  12. Not a real plug chop per say, i did however start her up, ride down the street, got to 6th, backed off and coasted to the drive way. Went up to get my wrench and pulled the plugs. Whats odd is the fact i completely cleaned those plugs a few hours prior. They got that color in a matter of minutes.
  13. Will do! BTW love your avatar....
  14. Ok, called the company, and its actually a 39mm Carb. Why would would one go with a 39 as opposed to a 35?
  15. Wow, you guys are awesome.... Thanks so much for the responses. Yea, i figured it was running too rich. I don't know how it was running before me, but i doubt my elevation could have such a drastic impact. Apparently when my sister went to look at the quad, guy started it up on first kick on a cold engine! Weird, but its more difficult because i know i was not there to actually test for these things at purchase so i have to go off the ill experience of my sister and a possible misinformed and/or dishonest seller.
  16. I got it from PA, mean elevation is 1100ft, i am assuming it was jetted for that range. Where i am now is around 243ft
  17. Greetings to all! I am currently overseas now on business, and has my sister ship me over a 04 Shee i bought on Craigslist. In spite of her lack of knowledge, i based the purchase on the description and images i saw. With that said, yesterday was the first time i tried out this bad boy. To my surprise i see a few aftermarket parts, which i am not sure what they are. I am new to Banshee's and want it to run at its full potential. Below are some pictures of the parts i could not figure out the model/manufacturer. Is there anyway to tell what has been done internally without a dissassembley of the top end? Here is a list of first day issues which is causing grey hairs already, any help would be more then appreciated. Problems: 1. Hard to kick-start (Bottom of my feet hurt, due to so many attempts) 2. When started sounded like is was going to die. Eventually did die, and would not idle 3. Slow acceleration, unpredictable power gain at anytime 4. Bogs down very frequently 5. Leaking fuel valve 6. Possible leaking head, as i see signs of coolant on the engine 7. Swing arm looks shot Again , thanks in advance for the identifying these parts for me, not much Banshee owners where i am in the world! (Morocco) Not sure what this is, as it seems to be attached to the radiator via an inlet and the outlet is left hanging on the frame Now the only things i do know is that it has v3 Reeds, Pro Circuit Pipes, 2-1 Carb Set Up. I opened the carb, and tried to find out the jetting and the number on the main said 160. I also took out the plugs, how do these look? Would these plugs cause a no start/Bogging down condition? Thanks guys so much for the help... I am all ears need all the tips i can get.....
