  1. all around port similar to a dune port lms1977 ported it He did a TON of research before porting this with a lot of attention to the details everyone that rides it / sees it climb , cant believe its a stock stroke quad good low / great midrange and very responsive
  2. Just bought a set of carbs/intakes/throttle cables from BB3 gave me great deal , shipped them fast even pulled them apart before shipping to check needles and jet sizes for me
  3. I've never seen them We park way in the back Only time I've heard of cops being there was when problems were caused
  4. Your supposed to have a permit thru Reading Anthracite Company But 90% of the people that ride there don't have a permit I'll be renewing mine this year $125/year and they can't tell me to leave Where in the Lehigh Valley ? I'm in Hellertown , if you get up early enough you can follow us up
  5. those are cute little balljoints if I break a tierod I can steal one of those
  6. got a set of 35mm PWK's coming 69mm=2.322" should I get the Uni-filter for 2.25" or 2.5" they claim they'll clamp down 1/4" smaller but..... I'd rather squeeze the 2.25" over if I can, that way I know they're tight also looking for good guesses on a starting jet sizes motor is .060" ,192/128, port timing, stock stroke, 7° timing, race fuel running at 800-1000' elevation , hillclimbing had T5's , 20cc domes, stock carbs with 27 & 310 jets with K&N, proflow adapter in a cut box adding Shearer inframes , Noss 17cc domes , VF3 reeds, CEL needles obviously Foam Pods who's got a decent starting point ?
  7. I'll be only one that can make the pass without having to lift
  8. http://www.beaverdalehillclimb.com/eventinfo/schedule.asp looks like once a month with a national event in June
  9. 611DM can I go before you so my pass doesn't look so pathetic
  10. depends what you want to do and your budget if you try and buy everything and bolt together a quad it'll nickle and dime you to death on all the little stuff most guys with perfect quads are looking to get back every penny they put into it, but it never hurts to throw a low offer and see if it sticks fuel isn't cheap but check out of your area and plan a little road trip best bet IMHO find a basket case that has some decent mods that you can live with or fit your goals for the quad then make it your own from there seen too many people that buy "nice" quads just to rip them apart anyways and start from scratch so find a decent turd and polish that diamond out of it I like brisket / ribs and beer (as in Lager not this bud light crap !)
  11. I haven't rode with an ez-pull but did feel one with heavy springs and it felt nicer then stock springs w/ stock lever if you don't buy from Dahl I'd like second chance take your time deciding though just a thought , maybe a steering stabilizer or shock absorber stem maybe worth looking into too much for my cheap buttt though
  12. oh yeah, not belittling it one bit sure will be a challenge just not diving around trees or 10' ravines when your 200' up a hill would be cool for a change though that's what makes the coalhills a thrill
  13. what head and gasket were you running +1 ^ to what he said pulling the head wont tell you the whole story to if the jugs are still on show some pics of the gasket too was there any coolant in the cyls when you pulled it?
  14. WOW , just like that bet that was a fun ride home
  15. in the 1st 10hrs of running did you check your plugs at all? who did the "top end" and what all was done? I'm assuming compression wasn't checked after overhaul
  16. wayyyyy too low either hole in both pistons/cracked rings (unlikely) or blew headgaket which head do you have? doesn't take much to pull the head (coolant, plug wires and a few nuts) and/or pull the carbs and reeds and check the pistons but I'd start with the head 1st
  17. I've been changing setups around on the quad , so I was playing with jetting for awhile but yeah I'm not fouling plugs or anything like that
  18. I changed the caps before with new NGK units on my quad and run B8ES NGK plugs but seems like alot of guys out here are always having problems with caps would I be better off switching to a non-resistance plug cap (boot) and run BRES plugs since they get changed regularly anyways ? hate to shorten up my plug wires anymore due to changing caps
  19. nice write up I came across this a little while ago never being inside a 2 stroke before this gave me a great insight to what was in store tore thru it like a pro thanks
  20. same here but opposite I gotta get out to the dunes some day I've never been on the sand (with a quad) but we don't have the mile long runways here and the rocks can do some damage
  21. Good deals & knowledgeable guys here doesn't hurt that their practicably at my backdoor either
