  1. I wish I could say you were wrong...but you were right! Still leaking and its coming from the shift shaft seal- (there was water from a recent wash which was sitting in the stator cover when I removed this- this is why assumed this). How do I replace the shift shaft seal? Anyone?
  2. ok so followed directions- pic attached- found water was laying behind stator cover from recent wash and mixing with the dirt and grime from history of lubrication....so no leak the previous owner put a bead of silicone around stator cover prior to installing..is this needed? Is there supposed to be a gasket?
  3. Gonna race next week....shitty conditions here in NY this weekend....will video the race
  4. if your referring to the picture....that was probably the only time my xp900 landed on four wheels and not its front end... The only flaw is its front end heavy (four wheel drive) ...I had whip lash for about a week though ....
  5. do i need to drain any fluids first?
  6. So ive been riding my recent investment and kicking the shit out of her...but bad weather here in NY today ....so this weekend my shee has been sitting in my garage- i noticed a light oil spot forming on the ground under the stator side of the engine right under the front sproket/shifter and left bike peg...nothing leaking directly underneath the engine....when i looked closer i found its forming between the stator/sproket cover and engine block ..... can i take this cover off to see where the oil is coming from? Do i need to drain any fluids to do this? is there a gasket on this side of the engine? Please excuse me if i dont get any engine terminology correct (engine rookie) but its my best way of explaining this situation.... Thanks in advance
  7. where can i find these seat nubbies? ps...never said it was a 1500.00 build ...I said i bought it for 1500.00 Thanks
  8. ps sorry didnt realize i was posting in the conversion section- but while i'm here i have another question- the seat on the bike is loose ...it latches although the front of the seat (near the gas tank) wiggles quite a bit. I noticed that the plastic on the seat that goes under the frame to hold it in place there is a major gap preventing it to hold tight....is there supposed to be a rubber spacer to hold it in place? anyone ever have this problem?
  9. is there any markings on carbs to determine what size they are? I clearly can see that there KLEIN aftermarket carbs ...any ideas http://i1246.photobucket.com/albums/gg613/allstarbanshee007/photo1.jpg already spent around $850.00 on the changes but it needed it
  10. Yes this was the 1500.00 bike....cleaned it up a bit...didnt care for the blue (plus the plastics were all f... up. new plastics rims tires handlebars etc.
  11. Stripper her down, put some new shoes on her and a new skirt on..... watcha think? http://i1246.photobucket.com/albums/gg613/allstarbanshee007/photo8.jpg

  13. i like the beat the shit out of it option...lol...thanks for the reply .....gonna tear up the dirt for now and tear up the engine in the winter.....
  14. Yes it does say Chichis- so i did some research (google) and it relates to chichis performance from Miami florida- so the limited information from of the seller is adding up- he told me the bike was originally setup for beach drag racing in florida.... although it still leaves me with the question what the hell was done to it- is it possible that they keep track of mods done to engines? If i call them is this information likely to be kept?

  17. ok guys so here are closer pics of the engine and carbs..been out of town for a bit on biz...took off the plastics to get a closer look and took some pictures and found markings on the casing after wiping down of the engine....so please let me know what you think.... trying to figure all of this out... have you ever seen these markings before? Is there a way to determine engine mods without tearing apart everything....was going to do this in the winter time and just ride for now..but always nice to know what the hell im riding...(seller didnt have any paperwork). Having problems attaching multiple files to this post. will attach others in another post...
  18. Thanks for the support!
  19. Yes will post shortly
  20. Thanks for all the sarcastic comments (assholes) To the other members: I have had a Banshee in the past, although no mods....yes call me a rookie on these particular mods and bike although this shit isnt rocket science when it comes to stock and not. Granted it may not be a super duper machine but its not stock. Picture is attached( i will post more when i get home)....see for yourself... On the other hand my reason for joining this forum was to gain knowledge from experianced banshee owners. The bike has Cpi Exhaust Aftermarket CARBS Aftermarket Head Forged Pistons and Crank Previous owner said it was a 499cc then 450CC .....now you might be correct it maybe something differant, did i fully know what i was getting no but did i think i was getting a banshee for 1500 bucks yes...but its not stock. I joined this forum to kinda direct me and possibly help me find out what it is that I'm riding.... Once again The bike only cost me $1500 ...I know the pipes and carbs and engine work was more than that.
  21. how about my questions?
  22. stroker big bore kit was purchased by previous owner- dunno where he purchased it...
