  1. @ WOT the plug is wet and washed....i tinkered with the ar screws and it def likes 1 1/2 turns out best and thats what it was set to when i just checked the plugs 5 min ago....it is a 280 main havent touched the pilots other than takin out to clean the carb. also it dosen't chug but it is def a hesitation on gaining rpms. some somke till it clears out then it sounds different a lil and is vertualy smokeless, just the right looking amount.
  2. I've been tuning carbs since rebuild and it seems the more i turn the air/fuel mixture screws the better and more responsive and cleaner the sound of the exhaust...I'm at 4 1/2 turns out so far and the plug chop still shows a rich mixture?!? i ran into another banshee today and he said his was 6 1/2 turns out and let me tell ya it was fast...it has a very similar set up only diff is he has a pro curcit pipe and i have a DMC Alien. With that being said...In y'alls opinion is going 6+ turns out ok as long as the plug says it is???
  3. Thanks for the info and sharing of experiences y'all have had with Trinity Racing...I think ima stay clear of um!!! that brings be to the question of what dual carb setup, in y'alls opinion will give me the best trail/drag race in mud and dirt only performance. .060 over w/Alba ignition(works well so far I a'int cranked it up though) 300jets in vm26's tors eliminator caps and a DMC Alien exhaust(which sound so bad ass it's crazy). let me hear it guys, watcha got?
  4. I haven't purchased it yet but was looking at the Trinity Racing 2 in 1 carb kit and wanted some of y'alls input before i buy! Have a buddy that has it and he says it's the cats ass when it comes to tuning...any other pros or cons to the setup?
  5. thanks man...i just got back from tuning it in and omfg it is sick nasty fast now!!!!!
  6. LMAO, well at least now I know how to get you guy's attention i'll let you guy's know if it fails but i finally got my shee running and it's running better then ever (prob bout to blow up, that's how things seem to work sometimes lol)!!! but anyways thank you all for your insight and pointing out that I've only made 11 posts...wow, you know how to count...I'm so proud of you lmao thanks again for those of you who actually enjoy lending some knowledge and experience to the NOOBs on here!!!
  7. well the pricks on here would not give any usable advise as they were all to busy suckin each other off in the shout box!!! also my CDI went out and i got it for under a bill so i'm happy with it!!!
  8. I recently purchased an ALBA Racing CDI and was just wonder what y'all think bout them.
  9. cheapest way is to take the shaft and gears out use a die grinder to grind away the welded material clean the gears and shaft replace with new rod and ball!!! 20 min fix after the cases are split!!!
  10. yes good blue spark, just completely disassembled carbs (stock version with tors elemanator caps) and fully cleaned(little debris in bowl other then that they were pretty clean looking... the guy i bought it from rejetted for a 65mm bore and i can't remember the jet size that was in it....something like a 320 or 340 i belive it was...not sure about the pilot jet size, i'll check...I added a New DMC Alien Exhaust is the only only change. I'm heading out in a few to work on it so i'll pull the carbs again and verify the jet sizes and re assemble and do a leakdown again (forgot to add that to the list at 5am this morning lol sry). thanks for all your advise guys! oh yeah is there any way to check the reeds other than looking at them?
  11. I recently had to split the case and replace the push rod , ball, adjuster on the pressure plate and the pushrod lever that goes through the case....After finishing the repair it fired on the second kick just like normal...the idle seemed a lil high but I figured it was cause there were some loose clamps before when i took it apart and figured it was that. It was like 2 am so i went to bed knowing I was going to have my shee back...went to go ride the next day and it wouldn't fire so back to the garage i went and have been there since I've checked everything (Spark, Compression, fuel, readjusted the pickup and verified is at .020, slides are on correct carbs, carbs synced, and electrical conections) so am gonna call it a carb issue...what yall think??? i can kick it and after adjusting the air fuel screw and adjusting the idel to where i have to hold the throtle for it to fire it will hit all most everytime but sounds to be running out of fuel ....today while i was kickin my a** of and making smal 1/4 turn adjustments to the carbs i found a sweet spot and the thing fired, ran and reved and sounded crisp and clean but then died like it ran out of fuel i mean wtf am i missing...also it seems to me that the timing is off (but it seems to be to far advance cause it will back fire slightly in the carb and then it will seem to much retarded and back fire through the exhaust and shoot about a 2 foot blue flame!!!)but there isn't a way with a stock plate to adjust the timeing is there? other then shearing off the keyway on the flywheel which i checked when i adjusted the pickup. Any ideas fellas???? i'll try to get a vid of me kicking my ass off for yall and let ya hear what it's doing later on this afternoon. but till then any ideas but be greatly appreacited. Thanks
  12. how about a welded clutch pushrod on BOTH ends didn't take long but a real pita!
  13. what is a good starting adjustment on the carbs? turn the screw all the way in and back out a whole turn? got to fire but keeps flooding out.
  14. got a gauge at a buddies house i'll go get it...we didn't have it when we went to ride so we pulled the plugs and held our finger over it and it blew our finger off the hole so we moved on in the diagnosis. also yes shoot my self in the head lol. also inea ides on why it would blow the exhaust o ring out? once it done that we only tried a couple times to kick it cause, it tried to fire and could here the leak where the o ring goes so we havent tried agian yet. i ordered the o ring and it should be here early this week.
  15. plugs get wet so fuel is there and plenty of compression you can hear it as it turns over and exhausts....any other ideas?
  16. I have an 89 shee that when kicked dosent seem to turn over enough to start i'm guessing. it started on 2nd kick after repairing the clutch push lever rod and ball. took out with my son to ride for his bday and have yet to get it running on it's own??? tried push starting and it wanted to start and run but wants to die... then all the sudden one of the exhaust o ring blew out!?! now can hear the compression and every thing looks good at the piston and plenty of spark! if any one has any ideas plz let me know as i have just redone the entire quad from the ground up....remember it started 2nd kick and warmed up untill it idled on it's own then I turned it off and shut the garage untill i went to go riding!
