  1. im looking for a 6 pack rack that can be easily removed like the one in this picture. i have toomey pipes with the hush kit (that i want and need to keep as im street legal in the UK) ive seen the one on ebay for like $135++ but its too big/deep maybe and could have issues with clearance over the hush kit. this one would be perfect but cannot seem to find who sells them? they look universal and cheap as it just clamps to the stock grab bar. I hate the look of the oversize tank and just wanna be able to take extra fuel when i need to without getting one thats fixed in position all the time. help needed guys as very limited market here
  2. hey i have stock motor and toomey t6 pipes- what would happen if i put the superstock pistons in my motor being as t6s are made specifically for un ported motors? worth doing when i rebuild top end or wiseco?? ps wanna keep the t6s have seen threads on this but no serious answers
  3. hey guys im over here in tiny england- virtually nowhere to ride in comparison to u lot in the US and most of our riding is on land where we shouldnt be. I have toomey T6s cos i love the sound and performance (keeping it pretty much stock before you bash me) and have to keep it as covert as possible so bought the hush kit. without the hush kit and then again with it fitted you can really hear the difference, not so much when ticking over but when ive had a mate do a fly by for me theres a big difference. havnt tested decibels yet. it does look a bit awkward pointing down so i now have mine following the lines of the silencers and it looks good- if i want it extra quiet i keep an allen key in my toolroll andpoint it down. my mates have raptor 660s and 700s and a baja 650 and they are definately LOUDER! i say keep the T5s and do a good repack and get a hush kit. my banhee is being made street legal next week and the hush kit is going to make the difference with the rules on this otherwise id have to put the stockers back on!!
  4. you could get a set of works (new or used) and get the springs powder coated yellow to match the stockers to keep the colour scheme u like- wouldnt cost relatively too much. even tho u said you want to keep the stockers u have to wonder why nobody has (or prob ever will) recommend that u should replace it with a new stocker. go aftermarket- the increase in performance will outweigh the compromise in the 'looks' that ur happy with. i didnt think my new Ohlins (yellowy orange) would suit my stock blue 2001 with toomey pipes- i loved the look of the oem white shocks- now looks damm mean now ive done the upgrade
  5. This is something i have been thinking over too- mine has all stock internals stock bore with toomey TR6 pipes and k&n filter. I had the rings changed as a precautionary measure when i got the bike. I specifically hunted a good cond used set of TR6s due their credentials for a stock motor- reliability and budget being key for me and have looked at these SS Pistons and thought i may go for these when i eventually do a top end rebuild. i know theyre made by Wiseco but would they out perform the wiseco piston in a stock motor with TR6s?? Anyone have first had experience with these on TR6s as i would be more inclined to go for the Wiseco pistons unless these give more power?
  6. spoke with John this morning at REVS SUSPENSION in the west midllands (supplying dealer) he checked out the serial numbers on the springs for me to check if they were uprated from Ohlins to allow for the wider front end- they were not so great news for me so should be good to go as far as the springs are concerned. THANKS JOHN! I am gona fit them on and measure the SAG etc to get the preload set right. I know i will have to still get them valved for cross country riding but will get the sag sorted first and see how they feel initially. this is all completely new to me being a newbie so any pointers are welcome (and needed) !! cheers
  7. cheers ride.race.live for the advice top man!
  8. just spoke to the dealer who supplied these- he said it's not the valving so much but check the spring as ohlins supply diifferent springs depending on a arm geometry rather than just setting the valving. he's now looking up the 'standard spring' serial number that would be suppied for a factory stock banshee with 'normal/default' rider weight and will check those against the serial numbers on mine i got a smoking deal and can't wait to get these fitted but at the same time don't want to ruin these as i couldn't afford to replace them. thanks for the info- i might fit them and give it a try but am tempted to wait as it may snow any day now here in south east England and if it does it only lasts a few days before its gone and need my shee ready 24/7 for some 2 stroke rippin'!!! ive attached a pic of the FULL FLIGHTs these shocke were fitted to- any experts out there can tell whether these are +2 or +3?? cheers
  9. Hi all - need help Just picked these Ohlins up for $800 - Front and rear shocks like brand new! guy brought them 2 yrs ago but had them on his shee for only 4 months on the road (street legal in UK!) he ordered them from main dealer and told them he already had FULL FLIGHT A Arms but he can't remember whether they were +2 or +3 wider - rear shock was on stock swing arm so shouldn't be an issue?? I have stock set up and am planning on keeping it that way due to riding very tight trails and being on a tight budget. They were valved for his rider weight which luckily is exactly the same as mine but need to know whether i should get them revalved before fitting them or if it can wait a while- fit now and revalve in 6 months once i have more cash?-im lucky if i ride once a month for 1/2 a day at a time. its gona cost me $320 to get them revalved and serviced which for me is alot I want them set up for cross country/trail riding what will happen if i fit these on my stocker arms but they are valved for +2/+3?? ps tried asking dealer where they were purchased new- they don't keep records going back 2 years any help from you guys is needed as we are extremely short of banshee knowledge over here!
  10. stock needle has 5 grooves - Toomey has 6
  11. HI ALL! i am a new member on my second banshee in the UK and Wow What a place this is! full of great advice and dudes AND from what ive read dudettes! (what could be hotter than a honey on a shee!!!- love at first sight anyone!) My first shee was a stock 2002 and had to sell before i could mod it in any way due to first born daughter. found a second completely stock 2001 in the summer for which to make my own- only had nerfs and runs great against my mates with their 660, 700 (raptors) and ds650. I HAVE read god knows how many pages on this site on advice and mods and as ive pointed out to my mates - this place is THE KNOWLEDGE After much research into what i wana do with my shee i have a set of nice v.little used Toomey T6 pipes currently being shipped from the good ol US of A. I have no plan to do porting work atall - just want a shee for fun that looks pretty stock but can screem along with my mates and their 4 strokes. It currently runs a closed lid and boost bottle- dont worry the b bottle is gone when i fit the pipes due to what i read on here. My plan is to fit the T6s with closed lid for now yes its true the UK is wet!, with a uni foam fiter and get an EHS airbox lid for no lid performance when i have more cash and over time add various bolt-ons once i can afford them. Can you guys help me with jetting - first timer, happy to do it but all my parts pretty much have to be shipped from the US so kepping costs down is important- dont mind the shipping costs- just dont wana buy what i dont need and the jetting kits on offer dont really give much detail to specific contents, emailed toomey 2 weeks ago too- no reply so gona the experts- u guys. elevation is sea level-1000ft, average annual temp 40-60 deg, 97 octane bp ultimate, could you help me with jetting for closed lid AND also for the EHS/no lid which i plan on getting in the new year to let her breathe better with the T6s? CHEERS DUDES! Sean
