  1. It was running pretty strong. It didn't idle and the Yamaha shop I had look over it said the carbs needed to be rebuilt and I figured I would why I had them off for the tors elimination. Im going to put the stock #25 pilot jet in tomorrow and see what that does..
  2. here is a video, it cranks right up but has no power, smokes bad as you can see and wont idle.
  3. I have stock headers on it and aftermarket silencers and I have the choke hose attached correctly. My elevation is about 900 feet. Tors is all gone, I did the elimination kit and I just cleaned the filter completely. Im going to take a video and post it. thanks
  4. Ok, I went ahead and put the bigger of the 2 pilot jets in, I will swap back to oem size. I will do a plug chop as well and post the pics. You think I should go down a size? Not bigger? Like a 210?
  5. Yea I did check that yesterday and they were in right..I thought they were wrong but the curved edge was facing the rear. I think I have a jet issue..they are stock sizes. What do you think would be a good one to try for the k and n filter and everything else stock? A 220 or 240? And then a 27 pilot?
  6. plugs are brand new. It runs so poorly I can barley ride it 10 mph. It just smokes like crazy and has no power. I'll take a video tomorrow, sounds like the choke is stuck on and it isnt getting air or something. I had it premixed to 20:1. thought it was way too rich so I leaned it down to 40:1 and it still does it.
  7. stock jets are 200. I have the top of the airbox still, is this something I should run without? What jet sizes are you guys running? Its about 30-60 degrees here in NC, I have just the K n N filter.
  8. Another question, would jetting make this much of a difference? I rebuilt the carbs with the kit and just used the supplied jets which I assume are oem or close. All I have is a K & N filter.
  9. turns out the slides were in right, with the curved edge pointed toward the back of the bike. It is still running like garbage though. It seems like it is not getting enough air, I have the screws turned out 2x on each carb and both of them sychd perfect with the cable. Any ideas?
  10. good idea, only thing could be is the float level not perfect. That will be next after I swap the slides.
  11. I think my slides are installed wrong, gonna check them and see. Hopefully thats what it is
  12. thanks, i think it is just way to rich and the adjustment screws are off. Hopefully it starts again.
  13. the smoke was white/blueish and it was billowing out haha. I replaced the gasket on the crank and oil so it is good there. I took the plugs out and they were wet so I guess it just got flooded.
  14. thanks, I will definatley try to run 32-40:1 and see how that helps. It just wont start now, the plugs look brand new so I dont think they are fouled. Is there any damage it can do by running to much oil??
  15. I just did a rebuild on both carbs of a 1998 banshee and did the tors elimination kit and it started right up first kick but was smoking really bad and had no power. In the book it says premix 20:1 but that seems a bit rich..im running the yamalube oil, I did a google search and found some ppl were running 40:1, 32:1, 23:1...im confused as to what the mixture is to run. Is this why it was smoking so bad? Due to it running really rich? It wont start now...think its flooded. I still need to adjust the screws on the carb I know but I want the mixture right. thanks
  16. I just picked up a banshee the other day and the wires coming out of the tors have been cut, does this mean I have to do this mod to get it to idle?
  17. a booster bottle came on my banshee I traded for, is this something I should take off? I was wondering what it does. If I do remove it, can I just run a hose from a hardware store or something?
  18. ok, thanks
  19. awesome, thanks for the reply. I noticed there wasnt much in the rebuild kit gasket wise, just alot of little parts. The yamaha shop was going to charge 1.5 hours labor per carb@$70 per hr so you do the math. I said forget that, I'll do it! As far as the fuel lines, does it just come off the tank on off switch and then T into each carb?
  20. Took my banshee up to the local shop to have them look over it since I just got it. They said the carbs were in need of a rebuild, It couldnt idle because the adjuster was shot or something. They also said the fuel lines were routed wrong. My question is, is rebuilding these carbs a pain? or is it pretty straight forward as I have rebuilt my mikuni on my jetski before. I ordered the rebuild kit off ebay already and was going to give it a shot. also, is there a diagram of how the fuel it supposed to be routed? Thanks, any input would be great.
  21. still available? $60 for both stock carbs? pm me if so
  22. ok, im sorting out a few issues with it now. How much will shipping be to 28601? thanks
  23. Will these fit a '99? Can you post pix?
  24. ok, I will look for it and make sure its ok. Thanks for the help.
  25. ok, thanks guys. It looks like it has been broke and like this for a while. Ill order that block off plate and put it on, then I can just eliminate the hose all together right?
