  1. Alright. I'll just replace them. There only $30 shipped, a lot cheaper than another topend.
  2. Piston and rings are brand new and the cyclinder was bored to the piston. Piston clearance is not a problem. The reason the one set is so far off is because I wasn't paying attention and gapped them for the smaller cyclinder. When I tried to assemble everything, I realized what I did and I ended up now with a gap twice as large. I'm at about .02 now.
  3. I called Wiseco and all they said was to get it pretty close. That's a bullshit answer. The gap is now twice the minimum it should be. I'm wondering if I have to buy new rings or if I could run it that way. The instructions say to increase the gap even more for modded engines but doesn't say how much.
  4. Well Wiseco states that the minimum gap is .004 per inch of bore. So my gap should be around .01. Problem is that I gaped the rings to the smaller cylinder and now it's twice that.
  5. I'm rebuilding my top end for the first time. I've got a Wiseco piston kit that states the minimum ring gap. What should be the maximum gap?
  6. Thanks for the advice. I probably go with 20s and run a race/pump gas mix to be safe.
  7. I'm rebuilding my top end and need new domes. Below are the specs of my bike. I had 20cc domes previously and would like to know if I need to go with a different size. I've done searches and posted to other topics but haven't gotten any advice, which is why I'm starting a new topic.   9. Can you order custom cut domes just by telling someone your setup?
  10. I thought it was bad to run octane booster. I have an idea but what exactly are cut domes?
  11. I've been told to run half 110 and half 91. I'd like to use that as its more economical than 100% race fuel. Is this ok and what size domes then? Once I'm done I'll triple check jetting.
  12. I'm rebuilding my top end but I've got no idea what size my domes are and even if they're right. Right now the left cylinder/piston is good but the right is trashed. The left(good) cylinder's dome is severely pitted but the cylinder and piston are fine. The right dome is fine while the cylinder and piston are trashed. Any idea what causes this? Once I rebuild the top end I need to know what size domes to replace them with and what should the compression be. I've got an '02 with a mild port, pro design cool head, 34mm PWK carbs, V-Force reeds, and Toomey T6 exhaust. I'm near Glamis at about -100ft elevation.
