  1. So for anyone wondering, I connected black to black+white and red to brown. Kicked it over and it fired right up. The thief was nice enough to put in new spark plugs for me!
  2. So i cut off the cylinder lock and twisted the red and black together. I take it i messed up somewhere along the way since it wont start.
  3. Thanks guys this is great advice. Im going to cut the wires and start there to evaluate the situation better. Then I will order a new key cylinder since that seems to be the cheapest option.
  4. Would be happy to provide you with the police report lol. Fortunately my banshee was recovered and from a quick inspection the only thing missing now is the key. Im merely worried if i were to resell it the fact that i've bypassed the ignition a new owner wouldnt like. Not that I ever used it since I just used the kill switch. I take it it would be cost prohibitive to have another key made, Or if I can buy another ignition
  5. Saturday my banshee was stolen. It's a long story, but the gist of it is I let a young african american take it for a test ride and he didn't come back. However the stars and planets aligned for me and after I had his companion arrested my banshee was recovered less than 24 hours later, and from what I can tell it's intact. But the key is missing. Am I SOL. Do I need to order a new ignition? Whats the best strategy for me?
  6. Nothing on that website mentions the ability of a cdi to change timing. Try again
  7. Obviously its going to be electrical, but its not electronic or digital. Can you please explain how a cdi changes timing?
  8. Cdi- capacitor discharge ignition. It fires a spark when the flywheel passed the crank sensor. Sounds fairly mechanical to me. What do you call it? That's certainly not digital or electronic. One timing does not fit all...
  9. I mentioned in the survey thread, so I guess I will post it here now. You would see better performance gains from an electronic igntion. If you are outsourcing the ECU portion of this to another company you aren't really doing anything other than assembling legos. The brains behind EFI is in the system that runs it.
