  1. Awwwhh shit the gaskets might be the problem then because these are cheap ones from eBay. Damn now I'm stressed about leak down test tomarrow, might have just been the cheap gaskets.
  2. Thanks guys just got done with sealent on the intakes. Got some ultra black permatex say maximum oil resistance and high temp rtv silicone hope this shit does the trick going to let it set up until tomarrow for my next leak down test. Thanks guys you all have been fantastic with advise I appreciate it very much.
  3. Great advise guys thank you, bolts are torqued I will see if possibly I can clean the surfaces but my guess is I will have to use the sealant. I did forget to mention I also have intake/Reed spacers so that many more surfaces involved. Thanks for the heads up on running the motor and retorqueing, not sure I would have thought to do that but I will now thanks for the heads up. Crossing fingures sealant will stop the leaks.
  4. I could use some suggestions on ways to prevent intake gaskets from leaking air and also the intake bolts. I just did my first top end/cool head and built a leak down tester. when i went to do my first leak down test i discovered my intake boots had a rip on each side(i had no idea about this so the leak-down test already paid for itself here), so i replaced them with new ones. Now i am going for leak down test number 2, i basically sprayed Windex all over the motor and took it to 6lbs pressure, the Windex works awesomely but all i can see is i have a small air leak around one spark plug and the air leaks around my intake gaskets and intake bolt holes everything else looks to be solid at this point. I am using all new stuff new intake boots and gaskets. So i guess i am wondering what is the best way to plug these leaks? i have a few ideas but before i get started i thought i would through it out hear because i am sure others have faced this. Any advise or remedies would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Don't want to see this thread go all negative. My experence with nastyracing was completely different the parts were exactly as shown in pictures, he was straight up front with me about parts, shipped them quickly and packaged them fantastic. Having a seller that is wiling to buy back any part that I am unsatified with is the kind of guy I prefer doing business with. My suggestion would be get pictures and look at them with a carefull eye then get more picture of any concerns. Just throwing in my 2cents Good luck with sale..
  6. Shakar was straight up and honest seller with me, items were exactly as pictured. Fantastic condition, shipping was very fast, and packaging was done extremely well. Thanks Shakar. Buy with confidence great seller here..

    Elka shocks

I could see it has round holes but was haveing a hard time imagining what the tool would look like. Thank you for the information, when I get out of work going to try loosening the set screw and see if I can move by hand, and honestly I didn't even think to try it by hand I thought the tool would be needed forsure. Then if i can't get them to turn I will try contacting elka to see if I can get one shipped. I was mostly suprised when I was having such a hard time finding the tool or picture of it or even the name of it, that was frustrating. But the shocks look so nice I didn't want to bugger them up craming something else into the hole. Anyhow I really appreciate the responses/help, thank you.

    Elka shocks

Thank very much I appreciate the help. I didn't even attempt it without the tool. But I will see if they will turn by hand and if not I will be calling them up. Thanks for the information I was blown away they didn't have the tool listed for sale on there site.

    Elka shocks

On stock shocks, and works shocks you would use a spanner wrench to set preload, what I mean by this is starting some compression on the spring to set ride height extra. Elka has a custom set up looks like it has a Allen set screw but then you need a tool that they say comes with them. I am after this tool that is a cousin to a spanner wrench someone that has bought some Elka's or has one please chime in. I am guessing if you didn't get a tool with your Elka's then maybe on lower stages like stage one you might not be able to adjust preload and maybe that's why you didn't get a tool. I have no idea haven't researched this.

    Elka shocks

I need some help with what tool is used to adjust preload on ella from and rear shocks. A normal spanner wrench will not do the trick so please point me in the right direction here. I have been on Elka's web site and looked around bought all it says is that the shocks come with the tool. I bought mine used and don't have the tool. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  15. I just recieved my parts from nastyracing and wanted to share my experence. Please don't be affraid to purchase parts, you will recieve exactly what you see in the photos, and his descriptions of parts are up front and honest. He stands behind his sales, communicates awesomely, will get you tracking information right away. His shipping was extremely fast and parts were packaged very well. Very perfesional experence for me and a seller I hope to deal with again in the future. Well earned bump here..
  16. Nastyracing: fantastic seller Execellent comminication skills, what was pictured is exactly what you get, fast shipping and great packaging. In my world i made a large purchase from nasty(pair of front works shocks, lone star A-arms, rear elka shock) with an amount of money that exceeded my level of comfert. However dealing with nasty set everything at ease. First off he stands behind his transactions if you are not satisfied he will work something out with you, for me he offer straight up return. This level of servce set me at ease. Had was as straight forward as you can get, shipped the items next day, with extremely fast email including all tracking information. This is the way deals should be done, thank you Nastyracing. Oh and he even sent me some picutures of the way it was set up, and some shock covers. Please dont hessitate to buy parts from nastyracing, i sure am happy with my little box of GOLD he shipped to me.
