Bored .020 over I believe. Could run them as is. Came off a running machine. Head goes with it both in nice shape. Have other parts as well just ask. Building up money for a 421 serval and arms and shocks. Text 7153141172 for pics or ask about other parts. I have two motors one I don't need because rod broke and hurt case. Any parts off that one are forsale. And then hot rods crank that needs bearings and the topend off the motor I run.

Yeah so they probably wear out. It's alot easier to do something know If it will be easy or not but I guess it will just be a project that I figure out for myself. Lol can't be too bad

Alright i just took like an hour to read all this and only one guy asked about 07 or newer parts? A friend is giving me a really good deal on his 08 arms and i need to know if it will work. If i need different tierod ends or what all i will need? And where to get spacers for the bottom arms. Please get back to me on this someone. I know its an old post but alot of people have looked at it so hopefully someone can answer. Also can i use my banshee spindals or do i need to buy the ones from his 450 as well?

Finally got an a arm frame because I bent a j arm and got mad. I'm lookin for some a arms. I'd like +2+1 but I'll look at anything. Hopefully someone has a set for a reasonable price. And shocks would be nice. Good stock or aftermarket. Thanks in advance

Around here pc or fmf is all you need so i shouldnt have much trouble. As for the pipes some of the builds on here just cut right where the o rings are at off and turned them a little and however and welded them. When i get the roller ill see how it all works out. Not really too big of hurry because i still need the roller. But motor mount pics and stuff would be great. And What statos do you need to run the 450 lights? I could just make a wiring harness that makes them work i think couldnt I? I made the wiring harness in my banshee and it works great. but yeah correct me on anything im wrong about so i know. It will be my everyday rider and i ride my stuff like i stold it. So i gotta do it the right way. But yeah alot of close up pictures of the mounts and if i need to run the strap mounts on the bottom or anyting and just how everything went for your guys builds. Pictures are worth more then any amount of words for me though.. -
Hey guys I have an 87 banshee. I love it and i always keep it running great. The only problem is everything always goes out. Ball joints making me get j arms, swingarm bearings, axle bearings, wheel bearings, brakes.. I cant afford to keep fixing it! Lol It has always ran good and not let me down. So i rode a friends Yfz the other day that has a +2 stem and bar risers. And wow it felt so right. The only thing that through me off was it had no balls. I have read every post on here about these and i love the idea so far. I can weld great and there is a shop that can bend pipes in the town close to me. I have a junk motor to use as a jig and a few sets of shitty pipes too mess around with. I have done a couple swaps before so i understand all of the things im trying to do but i want to know what pipes people recomend. Ill get the motor mounted with the shit pipes and make sure chains wont break and that it all runs good before the good pipes get chopped up. But yeah what pipes you think i should use, If i should cut the frame out like a few people did or if i should cut the pipes to fit instead, where you think the best spot to mount the coil is, if i should do a 2 into 1 exhaust or just one out each side, somebody that understands pipes to tell me where to cut and how much of it. Just pretty much give me some ideas. im in the process of finding a blown up yfz or just a roller and see what i can do. Thanks in advance to anyone that helps. Cant wait to get the started. They look great finished on youtube. One more is i dont have the biggest funds you will ever see. But i have any steel i will need and welder and banshee parts. Just throw me a rough number on how much it really costs. Im good friends with the shop owner with the pipe bender so i can do that free. Just anything that might throw me off track on this project

100mph drag/trail shee? is it possible?

Put a billet boost bottle and a F.A.S.T sticker on mine and it gained a good 50 hp and goes about 125mph.. New cam too. That helped alot -
If it was bored out at all and they didnt smooth the exhaust and intake ports the rings would catch and break. Idk what the process is called but they put an angle back on the port so it isnt sharp and the ring doesnt grab

Yeah i can weld pretty good. Ill look it up. The convertion holds up good though? And how much do a set of used arms go for now days? The weld wont be an issue though. The option of getting an a arm frame was an i dea of mine a while back but i havent really found one around here. The cost of the frame will be enough much less shipping. They are really fun toys but to keep them going good is spendy

Well i dont have money for new arms. I put more air itn the tire and it kinda went away so i could use tires but it still shakes bad. Yeah it was never this bad so i figured i wont ride it till i fix it. Anyone have j arms or know a good easy way to do the a arm convertion? Yeah im not what you would call the smartest person i guess but hey i live in the middle of nowhere. Bewtween work and ridin thats all i do. Prolly not safe but i did it. Not anymore until its fixed though. Anybody with j arms or a good explanation of how to do an a arm conversion would be really helpfull.

Best place to get swingarm bearings? I already have bushings for the j arms just didnt put them in yet. And my ball joints are like shot. I cant push the top of the front tire in like a half inch. Where should i get them too? Thanks

It always shook since i bought it. Cant complain to much because after all its an 87... Someone please tell me what is wrong and what i need to make it stop. Plan on doing a 4 or 7 mill this winter but theres no way ill make it that fast until it doesnt shake. All my shocks are blown but that wont make it shake it will just make my nuts hurt when i hit a big bump. Swingarm bearing/bushing, axle bearing seem fine but idk? Any help is appreciated. Thanks ahead of time

Yeah one cylinder at a time is fine. Throttle wide open till the guage doesnt move anymore. I didnt even know you could test more then one at a time

Adjusting and synchronizing carbs

As stupid as i might sound, I sync mine just by eye because of not having the tool and im always decent on it. Filters off and touch your throttle and adjust them as you need to.. Prolly not the smartest thing ive ever said but definately not the dumbest. -
Yeah ill check that when i get the rest of it back together. Whipped a shitty and the chain jammed by the front sprocket. Got it out, looked and my chain guide had no bottom so the chain fell off easy. Put on another, and was gonna tighten the chain when, sure as all shit, Missing a tightener thing that also holds it from loosening. Im assuming the main reason the chain come off. So now i need one of those and then when its in driving order ill get back to wiring. One thing after another. Gotta love having an '87. Always something. Soon enough everything will be new and i wont have all these wonderfull little problems that keep me from riding

I did the wiring harness that eliminates the switch. So its for sure not that. Just gonna use like a dirtbike kill. And yeah i put just a buld on the wires to test it and it blew into pieces. Ill try a regulator but it would still be getting power even if it was out. Just way to much, right?

Wow now tiger. Expecting the worst just makes you worry.. Lmao check that your carb tops are skrewed on all the way, push your carb towards the other carb and look for cracks/tears in your intake boots, if you have a boost bottle check to see that its sealed tight to the boots or that will leak, pull gaskets off the intake and reeds. Check easy and cheap things first before tearing your motor apart. Because when you put new seals/gaskets in all around the motor and put it all together again and start it and it does the same thing you will kick yoursef... Lol

Well, that was hooked up fine. Grounded good too. I stripped her down to look at all of my wiring to find out i had the biggest cluster f#%l( of wires ive ever seen on a wheeler. No conections were connected... All bridged or spliced and most of the wiring wasnt factory colors so it was hell too figure out what was what so i figured out what everything was suppoesed to be and made a new wiring harness eliminating all the tors, switches, non existant key, and all the other unneeded junk on a banshee that wasnt even there. Not even kidding i bet there was 50 foot of unused wire zip tied to my frame everywhere from things that used to be there. It all was muddy, torn, burnt, cut, shorted, or just sip tied and not used for anything. After all this was finished and junk removed I started it. First kick like always but still no lights. Maybe its my lights.. I didnt test the wires for power yet but im glad i got rid of all that junk. But if anything could be wrong that i did anyone help me. The wiring is done right now. What else could be wrong or broke?

Alright, they worked. All of them. One silener bolt came out and the silencer pipe was touching the frame and melted a wire, no big deal . New bolt and new chunk of wire from where it was good to where it was good. Bad chunk taken out. Started it headlight exploded as soon as i turned on the switch... So yeah... Any wiring diagram, explanation of what happened, whats broke, or easy way of fixing this would be very helpfull. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help

Mine had no bottom end either. Sync your carbs and check you mixture screw. After my carbs got synced and played with the mixture screw it is alot better. Just rode up and down the drive way idle to half throttle 1/8th turn at a time till they felt right

If you have a machine pretty close to stock, just pipes and jetted and airbox off dont do it. I did and didnt have enough power to turn that fast. as soon as you shift to sixth it bogs because its so high geared. Id say go 15 front and 38 or 40 back. If that isnt fast enough then get it ported and a little bigger carbs then try gearing it up higher.

I cut out what i needed and the motor has the rear motor mount in. Now i have to make the rest of the motor mounts. Ill post pics as soon as i figure out how to. Lol Looks pretty cool so far. Took off that ugle blaster light, put all the kx wiring in, took off the kill/light switch and put the kill button off the bike on the wheeler. Kick starter from the bike wont work though. Maybe a 250 kx will fit or maybe i can get the blaster one on the kx motor. Idk yet. Anybody know which kickstarters from other machines fit on a kx? Or should i just grind away what i need to clear the frame. It isnt very much.

Ok i got the motor out of the bike and the blast today in a couple hours. Now i set the kx into the blaster frame just to see where about the sprockets would be. Turns out they line up perfect when the swing arm bolt mounts the motor in so that took alot of worry out of the built. Now the problem is the kx motor mount for the swing arm is bigger then the space in the swing arm for it. Im supposed to chop out part of the swing arm by the bushing/bearing right? Just customize it to fit the motor or what do i do? Cant go any farther till i know. Hopefully you guys can help
