  1. i have 2 1998 yamaha banshees, one for woods and one for drag racing. im always seeing people with the durablue axle that is adjustable, and the extended A-arms. would they help me when im on a rocky trail? thats all we have around here is rocky trails. i figured the wider the 4 wheeler the harder it is to roll? is it a good idea to pick up a set or is there better or should i stay stock?
  2. i have just redone my 1998 yamaha banshee. i just put cpi pipes, cheetah 426cc cub kit, 36mm carbs, +3 swinger, ajustable timing plate set to 6+, anti vibration steering stem from lonestar, all new seals, gaskets, bearings. trinity stage VII cool head, 18cc domes, modified air box, and custom 2nd radiator. plus a few little things like v force reeds. theres things im forgetting too. but i powder coated the frame grey to match the plastic, and now i need new decals to make it look brand new. every where i look, the prices are crazy high even though its JUST SOME DAMN STICKERS! but i guess its stickers i need. does anyone know where i can find some cheap ones?
  3. i do. i have a 426 cheetah kit. the 450s dont have a top speed of 90mph any way. the crf 450s and kx450s i was up against were piped and they barely hit 80mph. sorry bro, but its a dirt bike, theyre gonna be quicker off the line, less weight and lots of torque. but im easily beating them.
  4. everyone was right. i dont need to go tht fast. im good with 95, with all my new mods, it made me very happy when i took it for the first ride down the strip.
  5. i totally agree. you could also get a 6 degree key to do pretty much the same thing.
  6. theres a vid of a banshee doin 110 on radar on youtube. so its not impossible.
  7. for pipes i have cpi but have my pro circuit on now. for the cheetah kit; its a 496cc with a 7mm crank, i just bought the cpi pipes and the cheetah kit so theyre not on my banshee yet. but i powdercoated my frame a dark grey to match the plastic, and painted the motor to give it a fresh shine. suspension is stock, steering stem is from lonestar, i have a renthal fat bar, temp gauge, hinson clutch, all new gears and seals in the tranny, im running 14/42 gearing, i have holeshot 22x11x10 tires on it, i make most of my parts for it because im a welder and have done many jobs of the such, so i made a 2nd cooler under the radiator, a 3inch swingarm extension, and have modified the air box and have 36mm carbs on it, it has the adjustable timing plate, which is +6, i have 1/4 twist throttle on her, and i made a different set of foot pegs that are on it. thats every mod on it. what else could i improve to give it more power or make it look/handle better?
  8. thats what i was told. but i want a lot more power too. the 450s arent faster usually. but just better off the line. theyre top speed is bout 85mph with a few mods. i just want the power to get off the line and up through the gears faster than the bikes.
  9. what is the cheapest way to improve the banshee in any way? i have pipes, new cheetah kit, new 36mm carbs, anti vibration steering stem, v force reeds. what else is there thats cheap to make it look nice or run better?
  10. i just bought a cheetah kit. but the 450 bikes are always a hard compitition. and F.A.S.T. was doing my porting? im gonna sell my old cylinders on ebay now.
  11. i didnt know i could get nos for it? but i dont need nos for what im doin.
  12. i just bought a cheetah cub kit from trinity. i had one on my other banshee when i bought it from a guy in ohio. it ran great but it blew up and i ended up selling it for a few hundred bucks cuz of the condition of the frame and motor. i think it should give me enough power for 16t front and 39 rear. i have it all apart anyway because i put all new gears, seals and bearings in it and powdercoated the frame. but thanks for the help kinda. haha i got more questions than answers really. but what can i expect? i asked a crazy question for a small motor
  13. well im on dirt and where im at theres a dirt strip bout 1 or 2 miles where we dirt drag, im always up against 450 dirt bikes. thats who i need to beat. its too quick on trails for the people who i ride with, but it just dont have the top end to out run a 450 bike. thats what i need help doing.
  14. what do you guys think i should do? i need atleast 100mph. give me some mods i havent named that could help me make the power to pull the gear.
  15. hi. i have a 1998 yamaha banshee. the mods are holeshot xct 22x11x10 rear tires, bored .020 over, wiseco lite pistons, trinity stage VII cool head, 20cc domes, 28mm carbs, modified air box, anti vibration steering stem, +3 swingarm, v force reeds, adjustable timing plate 6+, and i am running stock gearing. i ride on trails and do some little dirt drags. i wanna be able to do atleast 110mph. i know ill lose power but i have plenty to spare and the motor is being ported and polished as i speek. this machine is my baby and i hate loosing to anyone. please help with what sprockets ill need to do that?
