Cast is a method,not a material.

Nothing wrong with cast pistons if bore clearance is right. It actually expands LESS than a forged piston.

Can't comment on all of what you're asking right now, but on the oil thing .... I ran my alky cubs on 20:1. For the simple reason thst cubs seem to like scuffing piston skirts ,especially on the intake side. Running lots of oil seems to have cured that (for me) as the last 3 Cub motors I had showed NO signs of scuffing since running 20:1. Dyno testing showed that 20:1 ( even richer that that ) didn't affect power. But the extra oil did help wear. A side benefit is 20:1 = 1qt oil to 5 gal fuel.

Here's how you do it when dealing with a competent builder. 1. Call. 2. Identify yourself, all pertinent info on the build,your goals,intended use of bike. 3. LISTEN to what builder recommends. 4. Talk about your budget, and time frame. 5. DO NOT cloud the conversation with hearsay,Internet theories ,etc. 6. Did I miss something?

..so It'll take LESS of his time for him to explain why the info you got from someone online, who probably doesn't even own or ridden a Serval, is incorrect? Awesome.

Your builder has the answers, not some anonymous person on the internet.

1. Pay professional to do work.2. Ask anonymous people on Internet what said Profesional should do. Check ,, and check.

Why are you asking any of the guys here? Think they'll know more than the builder you've chosen? Makes no sense.
