  1. awesome thanks, thats what we were thinking as well, just wanted to make sure. Any ideas on the kick start issue?
  2. Alright so I took the bike out for the first ride yesterday. So got it off the trailer, kicked it over started first try and idled like a dream. The carbs aren't tuned in all the way yet but getting there. Now the problem is once the bike gets warm and I try to let off the clutch in first one cylinder sounds like it dies out and then the bike shuts off. The other cylinder still hits like a champ no issues. What could this mean. Also after it dies if you try to kick it back over it won't start unless you roll start or jump start it. I also upped the jets to 32o and i'm 400' above sea level.
  3. Alright guys so minus the jets being waayyyy off, it now revs. I removed the wire completely and unplugged the box for the e-brake rev limiter. It now revs up terribly but hey it revs. Jets will be ordered tomorrow and this thing should be on the trails in no time! Thanks again for all the help!!
  4. I won't be able to work on the bike tonight or tomorrow night, but thursday I'll be able to get back over to it. I have the e-brake unplugged at the lever and behind the radiator. Does the plug up top need to be grounded out in anyway or anything like that?
  5. Even though the jets are way off, shouldn't the engine still at least rev up just very poorly? As soon as you tap the gas the engine doesn't rev at all it just dies.
  6. No I don't believe I have, I was told to unplug the e-brake plug since I did the delete, but I haven't unplug the control box down there. I will give that a whirl. What does that box do? Temp for this season will range from 70-85, summer time will be more in the 85-100. Elevation is about 350-400 above sea level. Last night fooled around with the needle clips to see if that would make a difference and it's still doing the same thing.
  7. Alright sweet thanks man, I'll order up some jets and give that a whirl. Thanks for you the help!!
  8. Cool thanks. No one around can seem to even pronounce two stroke much less work on them so I'm on my own.
  9. needle clipped, I have no idea what your talking about? haha
  10. Ok cool thanks for the info. I'll have to jump on buying me a jet kit and getting that set up!!
  11. Alright so I have a 2000 bored .40 over, mikuni flatside 28mm carbs, k&n pod no air box, pro circuit exhaust, I'm using yamalube 2R 32:1 mix, oh and e-brake delete. I have just put it all back together, the bike fires right up but has an idle surge revs up and then down. I adjusted the idle screws it levels out but seems like its idling at a higher rpm then normal. If you so much as tap the throttle it sucks in air and chokes out. If I slowly slowly rev press on the throttle it slightly starts to rev then chokes out but it seems like the motor rpms aren't moving at all. I have cleaned the carbs, the jets and everything. I haven't had the carbs jetted yet, not sure what size to go with yet still researching that, but they have 180 mains in them now. Any other ideas as to what could cause this problem?
  12. so what are some good reeds, and is there a good jet kit that anyone recommends?
  13. Ok, I'll do that now. I went to the jetting forum and did the elevation thing and its saying 301' so I'm guessing thats 301' above sea-level right?
  14. alright thanks for the info, I've been around reading and kept seeing everyone talk about elevation and jetting. Thats what got me to thinking about my jets and area.
  15. Ok so I've rebuilt my stock engine after 9 years of good solid riding time. I have gone with a .40 bore and wiesco pistons, Mikuni 28mm flat side carbs, and plan to keep the pro circuit exhaust that I have on the bike already. Is this a decent set-up and what power gains might I get from these mods? I live in south Mississippi not really sure of elevation, and don't know anything about jetting either. I plan to upgrade the intake system soon as well. Any comments, suggestions, and info to learn from would be awesome!!
