  1. Been out messing with the shee this morn.... The engine will start with a half kick ! but dies after 1 or 2 seconds.Sometimes with a small backfire...and sometimes will give a small backfire when kicked over again I have a dynatek fs ignition...which didnt come with spark plug wires.The local yamaha dealer suggested I put 2 short automotive spark plug wires on instead. Could this be causing the problem?Improper resistance or something
  2. I did sync the carbs....by eye.Figured once I had it running and broke in I would get everything fine tuned

Running a 14mm cheetah on alky 39mm pwk carbs The engine will "start" easily but dies quickly.....have tried with choke on and off with same result Have also tried slight throttle while kicking over..same thing starts and dies quickly A couple times it seemed to have "run-on" when it died and also slight backfiring when it died Any ideas and suggestions on where to start to fix this?

When I purchased my 2002 shee it had a toggle switch in place of the factory switch on the handlebar Since rebuilding the bike I decided to not replace the switch and eliminated it off the bars with a new toggle switch to shut the engine off Once the rebuild was completed,I checked for spark before totally assembling and intial startup I now have spark whether the ignition toggle switch is off or on....also totally unplugged the switch and also have spark This bike also came from factory without a key switch Should mention that I replaced the wiring harness on the bike with a new one..... Can anyone give me some ideas and things to do to remedy this??

Running a stock frame with a +6 swingarm,front and rear struts lowered, 260 lb rider....depending on how many baconators that day lol 14mm cheetah with 72 mm bore....554 cc ? 39mm pwk's on alky,rdz oof's Paddle tire to be decided....recommendations? Where is a good starting point for sprocket gearing with this setup
  9. this is indeed his latest reincarantion!! Corbitt Newell is a complete ass clown!! THIS is the person I purchased the 4 mil cub from for my build....which is a bike being built for the childrens wish foundation which he knew. The engine I was supposed to get was....complete with 38mm pwk carbs,show polished head cylinders,stator cover and lockup clutch cover,N down 1-5 over-ride trans,full drag porting etc What I got was....an oil covered,grass hanging off of it and wrapped around the sprocket,scratched at "polished" engine,NO carbs,NO over-ride trans..just a stock one,no domes in the head whatso-ever,which were supposed to be 17cc domes cut for the pistons! and moire.....all for the "show quality price" of $4000 !! While waiting for the engine to arrive I also purchased a drag cut seat and a polised fronmt brake res/master cylinder from him.....both of which have never arrived !! After MONTHS of being fucked around by this tool I gave up !! Wont answer calls,emails etc. I dont know what I can do legally to sue this douche but sure wouild love to pursue him AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS!! Thank you Corbitt Newell for adding $4000 + to my charity build!!

  20. I did already purchase carbs ....38mm pwk's From what I am reading,sounds like 20-21cc domes are what I should run.Guess more comp isn't always better.How would this setup run with some nitrous added in??
  21. Actually I did buy this 421 cub instead of building one. Problem is the guy I bought it from ripped me BIG TIME !! Was supposedly buying a "SHOW QUALITY" engine....with 38 mm carbs...a neutral down 1-5 over ride trans... What I got is a well used and beaten 421....no carbs at all....a standard shee trans....no domes at all in the coolhead....was possibly a nice clean well polished engine at some point in its life...but not now!! And a$$hole also ripped me off a drag cut seat and polished front brake master cylinder So,I'm left trying to make something of this engine....and out a ton of $$$ because of idiot.Upon tearing apart the top end I find one cylinder is badly scored so I have sent it out to be re coated and might as well have it ported n polished at the same time. I have purchased a cometic 68mm top end gasket kit and have measured the base gaskets ....and I get either .024 or .025" part # B0066 base gaskets Prolly gonna need a o ring gasket kit for the head too as there wasnt even all the o rings there when i took it apart! So yes...I am gonna need some advise lol
  22. I can run a few different fuels 105 octane...c-12 which is around 110 octane....c-16....unsure of octane.Won't be running alky. Have a hotrods crank and rod combo with 68mm wiseco pro-lite pistons,which I believe are blaster pistons.The 17cc domes I have are 68mm big bore domes. I do have a set of 22cc domes,but didnt want to sacrifice horsepower with the lower compression.Some reading here on the forum has me wondering about that thought though The cylinders are currently out being full race port and polished Also...what is the typical safe rpm range for shifting these strokers Thanks for the info and getting this thing on the track running RIGHT
