Hey hope your build is coming along nicely. Whats its status as of now? Hopefully you listened to the best advice given on this website and stayed away from Trinity. Also wondering how you set it up? -2 swingarm, +2 a arm. widened rear axle, r6 rear shock, and version of a short shock ( Elka stage 1 ), and gearing, like stated all depends on how big of a track your running on, but for engine wise. Just look around till YOU find a builder that you believe is the best choice and go with them. The guy porting your engine will tell you everything you need to know, from gears to run, to fuel to use, to even what jets and exhausts to run. But as for bottom end you can stay stock. A lot of guys kick ass with stock cylinders and stock stroke but if your getting any porting done I believe that getting your crank trued and welded is a MUST. Nothing worse than going from first to last cause you have a kick ass top end but the stock crank couldnt keep up and took a shit on you. Well good luck with the build and your racing future!

Or could always just stud your tires right and wouldnt have to worry about them leaking air at all. I have sets of studded tires from three years ago that just sit around and they dont leak at all!

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone had any of the following for sale for a reasonable price for the condition. 34mm Carbs ( Gas ) CPI Inframe Exhaust Stock Bore Cylinders ( No porting ) Complete Engine ( Stock - No crazy bore or any porting ) Complete Quad ( Not the best condition - Needs to be redone )
-
I know im a no body but i only ice race and while i have heard of ppl adding a nut to the back side of the stud from the inside of the tire but just think how much weight that adds when you have approx. 250 - 300 studs per tire( Front and rear). and every 7lbs you can reduce is an added hp. Also the most common tires used are holeshot MX 7's for the front and the rear is Cheng Shin, i have not seen any other rear. But a real good way to not have them come out is to go over them every race. My first few races I didnt go over them every race and when one pulls in the middle of a race you will have one hell of a time in the turns. The spinning of the tires keeps them somewhat expanded but it is still a bitch. Also buy your tires months before the season starts and put them up on the roof or your shop *(garage) or house, the UV rays from the sun helps bake out the pertoleum in the tires and makes them harder instead of being so soft which in turn hold the studs in ALOT better. Good luck with your racing and if ever around WI come for a weekend and race, its a blast!!

Hello I am looking for a shee engine. A complete motor or just the cylinders. Mainly looking for stock or possibly bored one or two over. Preferably no porting because that would be my intentions on this motor, is to get it ported. Running or not but mainly a non runner so I can do the changes myself but also a complete blown up shee (full quad) I would be interested in. Thanks Guys!

Yeah if no pics posted can you email me some also [email protected] Thanks

Hey everybody now that the Ice Racing is pretty much come to an end and were throwing on the Hoosiers and taking off the studded tires was wondering where some of you flat track during the summer. I live in WI and there are a few local little tracks but was looking for something more or even new. The track doesnt have to be in WI I travel for races quite often so I was just wondering. Thanks guys

hes very hard to get a hold of but I know from knowing James that he now requires you to email him and then he will decide if hell do work for you. Can say what you want about how he does business but if he wants to do your work and when you get it back there will be no complaining because his work flat out HAULS ASS and I mean HAULS ASS. Hope you get a hold of him so you can experience his mastery for yourself.

James Smart is a Banshee guru. If you want the BEST engine modifications and work send it to him. He doesn't return calls because now you have to email him and he decides if he wants to do your work. That right there proves how high quality his work is, he doesnt just let anyone run his expertise. Porting and modifying shees truly is his PASSION. I will guarantee you that no matter where you send your engine it wiill not come back as fast as it would if you sent it to James. I had him do a MILD, yes mild port job on my shee for ice racing and I am beating 450's left and right. Even an all custom 25000$+ honda 450. But yes I understand it is a Honda

If your looking for any porting done the only intelligent option would be to call James Smart from Passion. Porting shees is truly his PASSION. He did a kick ass job on my shees and will only continue to go through him. For 50$ more it would also be smart to get your crank trued and welded. Youll have to email him to contact about him doing work for you. But I highly recommend Passion. Hope you find what your looking for, Good Luck.

I was wondering if anyone ice races in WI or MN or IA and if so where at?
-
The best thing to do would to use the cheng shins. Seen how the season is "over" if you pick some up now put them in the attic of your garge or shed or anywhere where they will get pretty warm. Leave them up there till your about ready to race. By this time those tires will be so hard from basically being baked that you should have no problem with the studs. On another note, a 1" is a must and if you have the option use gold screws and not the black ones. The gold are a courser thread and will hold better, in my experience anyway and you can resharpen the golds and not the blacks. G Good Luck

Anything new with anyone? The ice racing season has only a few more weeks left. Howd everyone do? Did anyone get the chance to race at nationals at Birch Run?

These are both from the first lap. Im sure seen how were all shee riders we know how this race ended. -
Im an ice racer but what I do is run wider after-market a-arms with a set of Elka short shocks. This eliminates having to use a lowering kit. I suppose you could run one or the other but hell, whats it going to hurt to have both wider a-arms and short shocks. Also depending on what you have done to your motor, those 450's are not a worry at all.
