Ive tryed almost everything except the stator could it be the problem

Hey guys im new the this forum. Any ways heres my problem i have a buddy that has a banshee 01 it will start no problem and sit there and idle but when you go to take off it doesn't have any jam wont even spin the tires. I am not to sure what has been done to it but the wireing is a chopped and i have tryed other carbs on it and i have also changed cdi out to see if that might have been the problem but cant seem to figure out what it is and help would be great thanks
