  1. With the porting, Im still running 35s, but running race gas for me is an inconvenience.
  2. I was running the same exact set up as yours last year, but with Shearers. I had mine ported over the winter by Redline and new domes cut. I'm very happy with it and was well worth the money. It pulls harder and doesn't drop off as fast as a cast serval. I'm still on pump gas too.
  3. I use FAST's heavy duty clutch with no problems.
  4. I think you will be happy when he's done with it. I had an as cast Serval and over the winter I sent my cylinders to Cam to port. It was definitely worth it, it accelerates faster and doesn't fall off as fast on top. Im always racing my friend who has a KTM 450 dirt bike similar to KTM's enduro, and from a rolling start in 5th, we use to be neck and neck. When we raced this year, I was hands down faster after the porting!
  5. I just put a clear Clarke tank like hp2000s on this year. I have a ported 421 Serval and gas has always been an issue for me. Ive always thought and still do that oversized tanks are ugly and thats why avoided putting one on. Since I put the tank on it, I wouldn't go back. I know exactly how much gas I have left and have more range than everyone I ride with now. Its nice to see everyone else worrying about how much gas they have left, instead of me!
  6. I'm going to purchase a set of Snipers soon. Presently, I'm running a 421 Ported Serval with Keihin 35s and Shearers. I want to try these pipes after seeing the positive results on the recent testing done with the 465 Ported Serval and the as cast 421 Cub . Does anyone have any experience running them on a 421 Ported Serval?
  7. I just bought one of these in the beginning of the month. Up until this year, I never had a problem with my finger getting sore. I have a 421 Serval with Keihin 35's. In my first couple trips out this year, my thumb kept cramping up within a couple of hours. I did some searching on this form and the Chariot and Honda throttles were both recommended. I was up in PA at a friends house last weekend and rode over 200 miles in three days and by the end of the day on Sunday, it started bothering me. It was well worth the money and I would recommend it. I bought it for its functionality not for the craftsmanship, but its a top notch piece. It has a shorter throw than stock, it is adjustable, and the design of the lever positions it in the right spot. Also, the customer service was excellent. I purchased the one with the more expensive chrome cap instead of the anodized one. I emailed Jerry and within an hour, he refunded my money.
  8. Ive narrowed it down to either the Ambush or GBC XC MASTERS. I'm just tired of buying two tires for a couple hundred and after a couple months of moderate use you get a sidewall blowout. I have Kenda Klaws now which I like, but even with six ply it still happens. I can buy one Kenda Klaw, but there will be a tread mismatch now. If this were to happen to either the Ambush or GBC XC MASTERS, I'll just buy a new set for 140 and call it a day.
  9. I wanted to thank everyone for their input, it will help when I make a decision on which direction to go.
  10. I was under the impression that the sidewalls were 4ply and figured thats why they were a little cheaper than some of the 6ply. Im running a ported 4mil Serval too.
  11. Yup, thats were I'm at, I rather spend a little less for a quality tire, then spend a lot for a great tire when there is such a high risk of a sidewall puncture in these riding conditions.
  12. I've had Klaws in the past and that is what I have now. I have never had any issues with them and they work excellent for me. I have 75% tread left on them and the one got a sidewall puncture this past weekend. So its either by one brand new Klaw and have a tread mismatch or buy a set of Ambush for a little more money.
  13. I'm in the market for new tires and I'm considering these as an option. I've read previous posts on the tires, so I know traction is good, they are four ply, and the rubber compound is soft. My concern is with sidewall punctures because I ride in PA where there tends to be a lot of rocky terrain. Any input would be greatly appreciated, especially from riders in PA that have tried these tires. Thanks
  14. I called Brandon on Saturday and left a message regarding a billet shift star and detent bearing. He promptly returned my call today. Real nice guy to talk with and spent a half hour answering my questions and explaining his products. Maybe just give him a call again and leave a message.
  15. As long as the tank is clear, I will take it just send me your Paypal info.
  16. I'm almost positive that its the clear tank, but wanted to make sure before I purchase.
