  1. same thing just happen to me you cant really determine unless you pull the top end i pulled my domes and noticed a nice score on my left cylinder pulled the jugs today broken ring new top end for me pull them jugs and let us know maybe a new top end for you as well

I ended up leaving my gas valve on while pumping non mixed gas in my tank than mixed it becasue i didnt have a can after being pissed off that my mom wouldnt drive me gas it totally slipped my mind when i got to the station to shut the valve off now with my stupidy....the pistion locked at idle...i used mystery oil over night in the plug holes and tore the cases apart and freed the crank now when i start it... its a bitch to start sputters sometimes before it fires and wont idle like a sign of bad reeds so i pulled the dome off today and looked at the pistions they move freely i heard the knock on the right side of the shee looking at the cylinder walls the left has a nice score and the right seems to be fine....my questions are what else to look for what would be a good top end / upgrades while the top end is apart and what do i need to complete the whole job...Any info would help so much thanks for taking the time to read this!

  6. okay so i got my hands on the wire tester...i tested the red and green wire while i kicked the bike over and nothing...i then switched over to the red/white and the green/white wire which is the coil pickup and the tester reads 120 ohms without kicking the bike over so what i am asking is the stator bad id imgine that it is also with a bad stator does the pick up coil still give a good reading?Thanks for any input and help!
  7. i will try that tomarrow and see what happens but if you take a look at the last diagram at this link http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=133650 you will notice that the key switch is deleted and the red and black is together at the cdi box
  8. well when i jumped the tors system the quad ran alot better but still wouldnt start without carb cleaner i started it shut it off kicked it over and it started one kick went to the store and when i got back there was no spark when i shut it off i used the key to shut it down got pissed off with it not starting came outside today noticed that a small spring was hanging outside the tumbler of the keyswitch so i hot wired the switch and still no sprak im not sure if it was just the luck of the draw and the stator went bad or cdi kind of stumped untill i get this wire tester i guess...im just looking for any input im all ears
  9. okay i just got into the banshee game and picked my first banshee well for the 2 days i have ridden it id never wanna switch to a different quad lol anyways here is how my no spark problem started....got the quad it ran real bad so i cleaned the carbs and did some researching turns out when i jumped the tors system the quad seemed to run normal idle fine but wouldnt start without carb cleaner...when i checked the spark i thought that it seemed a lil weak well i started the quad it ran good went to the store came back and it had no spark at all i looked at my keyswitch and noticed a lil spring popping out the side of the tumbler so i cut out the igniton and connected the red and black wire...nothing so i took the flywheel cover off and cleaned the surface rust on the flywheel mags and hit the pick up a little bit still nothing so tomarrow i will have my hand on a wire tester and im wondering how i go about testing the stator also i read you cant test the cdi box only way to find if there bad is swap them im wondering if u can get ohms threw the stator into the cdi but nothing out of the cdi would that be like testing it im not very good with wiring and such but i dont wanna give up ont his awesome machine i just bought it and for the good 3 hrs i rode it i fell in love...thanks for reading this and thank you for any help!!!
  10. now i have a new problem just went to go riding and my shee wouldnt start when i tried the fuild again so i pullled the plug and im not getting any spark it is pissing me off cuase i just had it running this morning fine any ideas where i should start first? i tired the plug on a differnt wheeler and it sparks so i know my plugs are good
  11. Thanks for all the quick replys i am going to clean the carbs again try the air filter cause mine is shot and im also gunna re gap my plugs cause the old owner has them gapped to 35 thanks again ill be sticking around banshee hq:)
  12. hello banshee hq im am new to the site and to banshees i just picked up a 97 banshee with paperwork i am the 3rd owner and it hasnt been beat on at all..when i got it it wouldnt start unless u kicked forever and choked it so i cleaned the nasty carbs still wouldnt idle nor start easy...did some reading on the tors system jumped the wire and now the bike idles fine and runs great but i cant get it started easy by kicking if i spray carb cleaner in the carbs jus a tad bit it fires one kick and runs all day keeps firing one kick even when cold its just when i park it for night and goto ride the next day i have to spary a lil carb cleaner again and it kicks over one kick all day i dont really get it any help would be awesome as i am starting to fall in love with this machine!
