hey all, just picked up a 1999 banshee, that has bin bored over to a 409, bin beating up my grizzly 700 , not good to try and keep up with race quads, too much frame flex...
so i figured i got had, did pre checks on the unit, ran awesome when i test rode it around the block.
took it out for an hour long ride out in the trails, ended up stuck in second gear, unable to shift unless i jam on the shifter hard it will move from second to first and vice versa, get it back, now oil on dipstick, now i know i should of stopped riding as soon as issues developed. lost other riders getting dark out, so i rode it back to camp, which in turn prob did a whole lot more damage. my fault
i get it home start taking a better look, exhaust pipe is full of oil, from what i can see on here on the forums it is a bad crank seal, mis this true,
being bored over the pressure is at 90 psi on both cylinders, and holding,
now of course the shifter is stuck or extremely difficult to switch gears,
i have the engine out of the banshee now, so where should i go from here. should i be ordering new transmission gears and drums, and should i be putting new rings on as well. what should the compression be at, considering it is over bored, which would lower compression compared to stock 125 psi,
any advice would be greatly appreciated, as well as decent priced sellers, as here in canada we get overcharged for everything, or anyone here good things about some of the sellers on ebay.
