I have a buddy who liv near my, Im at sea level, He runs a ported 350, 19cc domes on just 91 octane W/ Octane booster. I would think you should be fine with 93 pump fuel.
-
Plugs look good. YOu want a very small soot ring.
-
Just do what i did, get a 68mm big bore with a +4mill stroker. Problem solved. Best of both worlds. Lots of Torque and horsepower!!

I ended up doing a compression test before I left, at my elevation in Utah I had 170 psi on an un-broken in motor. It has been my experience that they usually gain 5- psi when they break in. I ended up buying straight race gas out of the pump, 110 Sunnoco in Yuma, and backed my timing down to 0 degrees on the plate. I never did do another compression test down there to see what it was but it had to be close to 190 psi I would guess. Everything worked out o.k., the engine ran good but I took it easy on it for the most part. Got after it a handfull of times on the sand highway where they race on the last day. I was going to change my domes but the air freight never made it before we left. Thanks for the info.
Do you know actual compression Ratio? Port timing affects your psi. But all the power to you to run 110. IF your gunna run 110, crank your timing to +6 or +8. Mide as well use that octane for full advantage.

With the stuff the guy claims he has done, your looking at maybe 10-12 horse. But the single carb will rob 5 horse. so your at about +6 horse over stock. Take off the single carb, but on a "set" of 28mm carbs, add shearer pipes. YOu will be pleased with the results.

IF you have 22CC comes on a 4mill, in california you should be fine to run ultra 94, thats basically the same as a stock head. Where is your timing at?
-
With my smaller engine, I have 21cc domes, will that do the trick ? Im going to be trying the .040 vito's superstock pistons
Depends on what fuel you want to run. IF you can get 91 or better. Id go 20CC or 19CC on your stock bore engine.

I would say your plugs are bang on. If you want to make power, thats darn close to maxx. Lean is MEAN
-
What kind of fuel are you running? MAkes a big difference for me...
-
Remember make sure your engine is fully broken in before you do a compression test. Put 3-5 hours on it. Then do a compression test. That was rings will be seated. Makes a big difference.

A Buddy of mine has a ported 350 with 19cc domes, he runs 91 and adds octane booster. Has never had a problem. We both are at sea level. i wiouldnt think twice to run 20cc with 93 octane.
-
i have a similar engine to yours, i run the vito's 421 68mm bore x +4mill stroker. I run 22cc domes on it. I run av gas. 100LL. and my timing is advanced 5 degrees. If i were you i would get 23 cc or even 24cc domes for it if you only can run pump fuel. As for the smaller engine, you could easily get away with 19cc domes with 91 octane.
-
Raptor????? Are you serious? A stock banshee will run with a Raptor. 535 willl blow its tires off a Raptor. A 535 would easily make 120+ horsepower.
-
I run 100% Av Gas as well in my banshee, and drag cars, and sleds. Av Gas will be plenty for your set up.

purging is just running the bike on gas/oil mix before you put it away for the day. it gets run until the alky has been run out and the gas/oil is firing the engine. NOT by shuting the alki off and running the bike out of fuel and THEN running it on gas....that will be a sure way to burn up your motor.
SO i have to either run the whole tank of alcohol up, then add mixed Gasoline, run it for a few minutes, then i can leave the bike over night? What kind of octane is needed to run a big bore on 17cc domes?..... the highest i can get that i know of is 112.
-
Had the same style motor just put on alky with 40mm carbs runs a hell of a lot better didn't think was possible with vitos LOL but purging doesn't tke long and u should u the guzzle cause it sucks a lot of gas and domes should be 17cc
What do you have to do to "purge"? Also what pipes are you running? And what do you mix your oil ratio at with alcohol?
-
Fair enough. Thanks guys!
-
I dont care about fuel milege, BUt i dont want to half to purge
-
No Body got nothing? LOL I know ill have to put in like 17cc domes or somthing? and double my jet size. But can i run my standard fuel lines and stuff??
-
IF your in canada and ride in the snow and in the cold I think your wasting your time.
LOL im 1 hour from detroit. IT snows only december- marchish. Other wise we have great warm weather up here. I dont ride my Shee in the snow. Thats why i have a snowmobile lol

Hey guys, curious to what it takes and if its WORTH putting a banshee on ALcohol? My current Set up is a " Vito's 421 (68mm bore, +4mm stroker crank) with 22 CC domes running 104 octane. 34mm PJ carbs. NOw i only have fmf Fatties on it at the moment, (will be shearers soon) What does it take ? And will my engine hold up? I dont drive the thing hardly so i dont care if its a pig on fuel. I want this thing stupid Fast. But i dont want to have to rebuild it every 10 hours either lol. Give me the details of whats allll needed to switch over?

A buddy of mine has a 350 ported shee with 19cc domes. All he runs is 91 and a few " GLUGS" of octaine booster. He seems to be getting alone fine. Im not sure where he is at for timing though.

Just looked and I have some 145 and 142 mains, 45 and 42 pilots laying around. So I guess I will reset my needle to the center position and throw in some 142 mains. Hopefully it gets better! Might as well put on some new NGK spark plug boots while I'm at it to eliminate that as a problem too.
Yes for sure. Another thing i have heard of is spark plug gao being out of wack. It will cause the engine to miss fire. IF you have a set of feeler gauges or a plug gap tool. I would do .025-.030 thouge. I run .025.

What do you mean by "StreetABLE"???
best gear for drag/trail banshee

Adding oil will make the engine run richer, yes its less "GAS" but the more oil will slow your burn down.
Personally, i would get rid of that crap single carb set up. That motor needs no more then a set of dual 30-32mm carbs. Also he needs 104 octane and tighten up your plug gap to .025.
