I have a 2000 Banshee with Toomey T-6 pipes, K&N filter pods, Noss Cool head with 19cc domes, Chariot timing plate +4 and run VP C12 fuel. My jetting is 27.5 pilot with 300 mains AS 2 turns out. Runs great bottom to just over half throttle then it seems to flatten out. Compression is around 165 on both cylinders so does that sound like my top end may need to be redone? Temps are above 85 and my plug chop suggest I am slightly rich which is ok due to the deep sand I ride. Any suggestions?

Rims-Tires- Adjustable Timing plate-Flywheel Puller
Hank replied to WildShee's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
I am interested in the front and rear rims & tires. You still have them? -
Ok, I got the 27.5 pilot jets installed and noticed my carbs were not synced well. One opened up well before the other so I did some adjusting on the cable and finished it off using the unisyn tool. The banshee rips now! I've got the air screw opened to about 2.25. Incredible how the bottom end came alive with a little adjusting. Thank for the help guys...

My compression is 170 lbs so would can I run 50/50 C12 with pump fuel? Also, I weigh 215 so should I stay with the 14/41 gearing?
-
Will the 27.5 give me more bottom end? Thanks...

I have a 2000 Banshee with Toomey T6 pipes, Noss cool head with 19cc domes, +4 timing, K&N filter pods, & 14/41 gearing. I also run VP C12 race fuel due to the high compression. It is currently jetted as recommended by Toomey with the stock idle jet 25 and 280 mains. I am in Florida so I need jetting for sea level and usually 70 degree plus temperatures. Am I jetted pretty good or should I go up? Also, any recommendations for my gearing? I mostly trail ride but want to smoke the 4 strokes in the wide open runs...

Thanks for the info. I guess i know what I will be doing next weekend...

My bad.........So what gear you running

I ran it with the radiator cap off and have no coolant flow. Shut it down and checked the impeller. It turns freely which i am assuming is a bad thing? Ordered a new impeller and found a radiator on ebay so i am going to replace both. Am i missing anything?

Adding teeth to the rear sprocket gives you more bottom end correct? I am running a 14/41 (stock) on mine and want a better holeshot. Any recommendations that would be a good compromise and also usable for trail riding? Thanks...

I have a 2000 Banshee with a Noss cool head 19cc, timing advanced 4 degrees and Toomey Pipes. When I run it hard I hear the antifreeze boiling over in the radiator and puking it out into the overflow. I was running in 50 to 60 degree temperature today so it should not have overheated. Is this the impeller going bad or is it my radiator? I have the stock radiator and impeller on there now...Thanks

Anyone know what size jets the Toomey T6 kit comes with (pilot & main) and does it include a needle? Thanks...

It is only one carb that is leaking on mine also. I guess I know what I will be doing this weekend, taking the carb apart again! Thanks for the replies. Looking forward to fixing it....Hank

I currently have constant fuel dripping from the fuel hose coming out of the back of the carb bowl. I have replaced the needle and seat on both carbs along with the floats (and adjusted). The only time it stops dripping fuel out the hose is when i shut down the fuel petcock. What else could be causing this constant fuel dripping from the hose when i shut the motor down? Getting a little frustrated...Thanks

Thanks for the input it will definitely help with choosing the new wheel & tire set-up....Thanks, Hank

I currently have the stock wheels on my banshee and want to upgrade to better rims and tires. Looking to go to Maxxis Razr II tires but can't decide whether to use a 9" or 10" rear rim or which type (beadlock, baja, ITP, etc). I like how the 10" rim looks but I see alot of you running 9's. Any suggestions would be appreciated...Hank

Just put the Chariot timing plate (+4) on my Banshee following your instruction. Runs awesome! Thanks....Hank

Waiting on my Noss head with 19cc domes and Chariot timing plate to get her next week. I plan on bumping the timing +4 like everyone recommends on BHQ. Depending on how that runs, I will mess with changing the rear sprocket.

Just got a banshee which I use for trail riding. It has the stock gearing (I believe) 14/41. Any recommendations for more bottom end. Should I come down on the rear sprocket or is this a pretty good all around set up? Thanks...Hank

Ok, got a new compression gauge and it reads 115 psi on both cylinders. It usually starts the first or second kick so I believe the compression should be ok. Thinking of purcahsing a cool head with 19cc domes to get a little more compression. What kind of octane should I run with that head? I have some VP C12 that I run on my KTM but not sure if that is too much octane (108). Will that help improve my throttle response in the mid to upper range? Thanks...
-
I used the correct tips, just not sure how good the tester is? I did not hold the throttle wide open. Would that make a significant difference in the psi reading?
-
It's got me a little stumped because it starts first or second kick. I bought it a month ago and seemed to run fine but the guy said the top end had never been done. Pulls strong on the bottom end but seems to be lacking in the mid and top. I guess I will take the head off and see what it looks like inside.
-
I did a compression check today and both cylinders were a 75psi. Is it time for a new top end?
-
Any recommendation on which domes to go with?

I have a 2000 Banshee with Toomey T-6 pipes, K&N dual filters, and Toomey jet kit. Looking to shave the head .30 but not sure if that is the best head mod. Any recommendations? Looking to get a little more compression and possibly run VP 4.2 race fuel if necessary due to increased compression. Thanks...
