  1. Hello again gents. I wanted to see what other people with 28mm PWK's are adjusting the pilot air screws to, or where mine should be. Im running a stock stroke, dune ported stock cyls, T5's, VF2's +4 timing and an air box with a K/N filter at about 500 ft above sea level. I think I heard it should be 1 and a half turns out but im not positive. I checked out the other thread where you put all your mods in and compare to others but there is not much about the pilot air screw on there. What are you guys setting them at? Is there a general position regardless of altitude or do all the mods and stuff come in to play? Any help would be great.

  2. Similar thing was happening to VoOK he other day with brand new VF4's. 1 side was smoking more, he went nuts trying to figure out why, thought it was the carbs, electrical etc. When he swapped the left reed to the right the problem followed and there is no visible damage to the reeds except that one of them seems harder to bent. Moto Tassinari is sending him a new one for free. Check the reeds lol

  3. So either through rocky or the dealer, neither one supplies an MSO sheet? (manufacturers state of origin) I could understand the VIN thing since its not street legal or in production any longer, but no proof of ownership whatsoever? Not even from the dealer? What if you want to put insurance on it? you need a VIN. I guess you'd just be shit out of luck??

  4. My wife loves the look of pink and black banshees and blasters. She said she would like a pink frame and black plastics too. I think a pink frame, swinger and hubs would look good. Its cool that you 2 enjoy working on the bikes together. Good luck with the work, post up some pics for us to see when it gets done.

  5. I use 35PWK's,billet intakes, spacers and an airbox...all that junk moved it up and back a bunch. I needed the bit extra space as i have fuel lines for my dial-a-jets plumbed into the bottom of my carb bowl nuts. I cut the 2 airbox posts off of the frame as they are useless. Then i just zap strapped to the rear mounts on the frame that were for the airbox. Works fine and is pretty solid for a few years now.

I can throw up some pics if need be.

Oh thats awesome, thought i was gonna have to buy that CFM box lol. Thanks for the help. It would be great if you could post up a pic, I think others may be interested too.

  6. Hey guys, I recently got some 28mm PWK's and absolutely have to run an air box where i ride. Im putting reed spacers on because the bottom of the carb hits the clutch actuator but i dont think the stock box will fit now due to that. So my question is, what do you guys do about airboxes with aftermarket carbs? Is there a way to mod the stock box to fit? I know about the CFM aluminum boxes but im really not trying to spend anther $100. Any Thoughts?
