  1. ok its definately not the compression tester, i have borrowed a mates which he knows is correct and mine reads the same as his. 115psi i have built the leakdown tester today just waiting for all the sealant to dry and i need to get freezer plugs or something similar tomorrow, then i can do a leakdown test. looking forward to sorting this. tell me something. if an airleak can cause it to be so radical and splutter with no power etc - if i find the leaks and seal them will it automatically be 100% immediately?? might sound silly, but i want to know if sorting something like that will show 100% improvement (provided thats the only problem ofcourse)
  2. thanks man! i will let you know how it goes. tester is made, i just need to get the freezer plugs or something to seal the exhaust side.
  3. what do you guys do if you find a leak?? i have all brand new gaskets all torqued correctly and am going to do the leakdown test tomorrow. was just thinking if i find leaks do i then take it off and add some high heat gasket silicon between the gasket to seal it properly?? what are your reccomendations to fix an air leak? sorry if its a silly question, was just wondering how to correct the air leak without over torquing the bolts.
  4. yep new gaskets all torqued correctly. they were originally on the bike with 200 mains jets (the original setup) i jetted the mains to 320 to match the upgrades as the previous guys just left the jetting and did the upgrades. they just did a fresh top end too when i bought it..
  5. ok ill leave it then - i have run it before and they rip on the top end. insane rush. although i am having issues with it since replacing all the gaskets and plugs. my compression is 115psi at 2 000m above sea level. carbs cleaned out everything torqued to the correct spec new spark plugs struggles to start where before it was in 1 or two kicks with the choke on.... It just wont stay on or idle. backfires like mad. both cylinders getting way too hot and i have no idea why...... sometimes when i finally get it started it seems it only runs on 1 cylinder. any tips or should i start a new thread?
  6. Ok Savage! i apreciate your replies man! will have them up in about 24hrs, need to take them off the engine :-)
  7. ok with you now, are the transfers the bits cut out on the sides of the cylinders? what do i need to measure for you??
  8. what are good pics? what do you want in the pics? i dont know what detail is the important stuff :-) noob i just thought the actual inlet/outlet is what makes it....... i will get mesurements tomorrow too. what exactly do you need me to get measured up?? where are the transfers? maybe i have a pic or two.
  9. this is a pic with the piston inside - you can see that the port fills the space compared to the piston hole. the piston hole matched the original port size which are the transfers?? please explain and ill get pics up soon. i have pics of the pistons too if that helps anything
  10. Hi All, i have just recently bought a banshee. The previous owners might/might not have known what they were doing - im not sure. what i do know is its been ported. please see below for detailed photos of the cylinders and port work and give me feedback on what you think they did and what type of ports this is for...
