  1. what size should the gap be between the bottom of the slides and the carbs? I'm not to sure if there set to far closed or not.
  2. I put new float needles and seats because it was leaking out the over flow tubes and running the same. But now it just runns the same, on one cyl at low rpm's, and not leaking out the over flows anymore. Could the choke plunger be bad or leaking fuel past it? If so which part of it do i check? Thanks!!
  3. I have checked all of that. The floats, jets, slides, blew air through all the passages but it still just dumps way to much fuel.
  4. Ok I switched carbs to the other sides and the problem went to the other cylinder. What is causing this carb to let to much fuel through? I have put new jets, floats and float needle seats, cleaned the carb a number of times and nothing seems to help. anybody have a clue to what the hell is up with this carb?
  5. Ok my shee doesn't want to idle on both cylinders. I can give it some throtal and you can here the left side start to fire but when you let it back to idle its only running on the right side. I pulled the choke just a little to see if it was getting gas and then i can see fuel dripping out the tail pipe. I have cleaned the carbs new float needles jets and it still wont idle on both cyl only the right. I have checked the reeds and there seemed good. I have even switched the plug wires and still only the right side fires at idle. I'm stumped as to what the hell is the prob. I dont have the tors at all and the carbs are sync with each other. Anybody know what could be the problem could be or have some advise would be realy appreciated thanks. I also did a comp check and both cyl are at 110 psi.
  6. I can see light threw the sides of the pedal to as well as the tips. Is it like that on new ones as well?
  7. Thanks alot, I wasn't sure if they could be fliped over or not so thanks for clearing that up. If there was a little gap would that cause one cyl to run crappy at idle? I took the carb off and was pushing on the kick starter and i could see bubbles at the tips of the two bottom reeds on my left cyl. I took the block out and there is a very tinny gap on the two bottom pedles at the corners.
  8. I was wondering if there was a way to tell if the reeds needed to be replaced. Or are they flipable? Thanks
  9. Thanks i will give that a try. were is a good place to get a rebuild kit for this? All the ones i see will come with smaller jets that i wont use.
  10. This is a great site and i have learned alot here and this is my first post. I have a problem at low rpm's. I have 97 shee with fmf gold pipes and power core 2 silencers, tors removed, stock mottor and carbs. I am riding at sea level and i have 25 pilots and 280 mains. when i give some gas to go it bogs and alot of smoke comes out the pipes, the left hand pipe smoke more. when taking off in first gear it sound funny and is jerky untile i can the rpms up then it snaps out of it and rips. Once i get the rpms up it will hit power band nice threw all gears but 6th. I can't hit power band in 6th for some reason. I have the pilot srews turned out about 3 1/2 turns to get it to idle good but will not come off an idle snappy. If the srews are turned in more than that i wont even barely get out of first gear. There is no way i could take off in 2nd gear on the sand. I moved the needle clip to the second clip from the blunt end and it helped the mid rpm range alot you can realy feel the power band hit better. I seen some gas leaking out the tubes on the float bowls so i thought the floats were set to high. I checked them and they were sitting level. I bent the tab a little to lower the floats some. My left hand carb quit leakin but the right still drips. Could the float needls be shoot and be filling my carbs with to much fuel. Would this make my low end power really rich. Thanks for any advice
