  1. I have a stock banshee stator I pulled out of my 2000 a year or so ago. This is for the stock Banshee Stator, Timing plate, and voltage regulator... I'd like to get $125 for the whole setup. It's in excellent condition as I have never driven through much water.
  2. Hey guys, SDD came down and helped me pull my crank out to get it trued and welded. I was talkign to the guy who is doing the welding and he suggests that I might consider new rods and Bearings. Do I need to get a new rods and bearings or the outer bearings or any other for the crank before I put it back in? What about the rods?
  3. I did a comprression test 105/115 , and I noticed some loss n HP right before I decided to get it ported
  4. I can't get to the screws without removing the flywheel, Anny suggestions on getting the flywheel nut off? It just turns the crank
  5. I already have the adj timing plate installed. I went ahead and picke dup a flywheel puller anyways since I have needed it more than once now. it was only $15.. Seems I pull off the flywheel then adjust the timing plate my loosening the 3 screws and moving it to the proper alignment?
  6. I measured it witht he feeler gauge. both rods have .022 gap between the rod and the crank. I figured it out, If I get the bottem end apart myself or with some help it will cost me $215 to get the crank trued and welded and the clutch machined. If I have someone else do it it will cost $420
  7. im a fan of sand tires unlimited and skat track depending on what you want to do. It's all about weight, durability, and design.
  8. It's a 2000 and only ride 6 months out of the years usualy. Im in El Cajon CA
  9. Yea thats odd, I called ricky stator and he told me I would have to remove the flywheel. Even if I can leave it on do I still need the puller? They said they didn't have enough time tomarrow to torque the nut off for me, and I would have to wait till next week and maybe they can do it for me...But I can't wait and wait on sch a little thing to be done. Im going to buy a puller tomarrow unless I REALY don't need one yet. Cause $15 for the puller is 3 days lunch here!
  10. It would definately take me a bit longer...Im guessing some other things may need to be removed first also? Anyways I tried calling places today but non of the answered as tehy were too buisy or something to answer their phones. Id like to get my crank welded the right way but won't shipping be expensive? I have a hard time with many places because they want you to come in but working and having school from 10-9 or 7 at night makes this EXTREAMLY hard. And I only have day a week to get any work done really...At this rate it looks like I may not be able to get it welded for the start of the season, So I may end up waiting till may to get the crank welded.
  11. I fergot what tool I needed to adjust my timing plate...It's a flywheel puller right?? And if so is this an easy thing to adjust myself without an air compressor or special wrench? How do I know how much to tighten the nut back up? I want to advance my timing 4 degrees, and I have an adjustable plate already. Thanks.
  12. Yea when I raced one and he got smoked, With just pipes and air filrer on my banshee. We raced up olds hill not on the flats, but he did beat all his friends and my other friend (none on a shee)..For some reason when I raced him he got smoked though :? . Not sure what he had done to it either. I think ill keep my banshee, and would probably go the raptor/kawasaki route over the predator. I rode a kawasaki 400 with a pipe and filter and I think maybe something else, and it was not too bad at all.
  13. Hey were are you located anyways? Im going to print this out and see who can weld my crank the proper way when I decide to get it done. Thanks for the tip.
  14. 32 to 1... Does elevation affect this though? The last Time my banshee Would bog in every gear, is possible I suppose that I just bought bad gass from SHELL though.
  15. I contacted my builder and he already started on the cylinders. He said honestly sometimes the welds don't hold up anyways and he thinks I could get by with my stocker for now, I just gotta figure out how to take the measurement to make sure its not more than .020 off. If I can get buy for a whole season I could probably tear it down over the summer to get it welded. But with college classes and graduation this spring, and hunting for a job out of college (Really worried about finding a job in SD). I find myself falling WAY short of the amount of free time I have to learn about these things. But hey make me an offer if you still think you could help...Im just trying to get things done for the big turkey weekend, since ill be away from X-mas and New years. Maybe its better so I can have some other things done when I split the case anyways?
  16. Well the origional question i asked was could I get poriting and everythign done for under $800... Not it seems to total cost is well over $1200, i was led to believe it would cost a total of 700-800 with gaskets so i shipped them off... Now im find out there is so much more to it. I should have just left the top end together and wait to see if it blew up. I don't want to de-tune anything or run it like crap, otherwise there is no sense in getting work done in the first place, I also don't want a "lesser" port job as it seems I may as well wait to get it ported later then ratehr than blwo the one time chance for a fast bike. So it looks like ill just be out the $60 for shipping and the $30 for gaskets at worst ...Then I would be exactly back to where I started, If I can even put it back together properly...This has been one hell of an expensive learning experience... Now I see why some people don't like banshees! They are damn expensive to get any kind of work done. I figured with $800 I could actualy do something But i see that it costs WAY more than that to get anything serious done, engine work, suspension etc. So now when I see a worked bike I'll have even more respect for it, as I putt around on my low compression POS.
  17. I was hoping to spend less than $100 for the whole thing, i did not realize that that was JUST to have the welding and the crank trued . I actualy spent more money on the porting than I origionaly intended so I don't really have anymore money than that. I guess I may have to cancel the port job and just rebuilt my top end...I don't really know what to offer you, I have a couple more places I guess i should call. Im really disapointed because I thought getting the crank trued and welded was no big deal...And now it sounds like I need to take out a small loan to get everything done just to be able to ride. Which I can't do since im a college student
  18. thx but I don't have the tools or experience or time, hell this is the first time I have taken apart the top end ... Basicaly I need to get it done by this weekend or next. and back together...
  19. Well i shipepd off my cylinders to get them ported figuring I could get my crank welded for $100 or less. So far I have not been able to find anyplaces that will do it for less than $200, One place quoted me $225 just to split the cases. So now im worried ill end up with a port job I will not even be able to use untill near the end of the season. I live in San Diego and im looking for a place where I can get this done correctly, but for less money. Or should I just have the place hone my cylinders and ship them back because I want to be able to ride this season...I don;t think I have enough knowledge or experience to mess with this stuff myself.
  20. get it signed over to your name before they declare bankrupcy so you won't have to sell it.
  21. Hey well I "MIGHT" be looking for some 33mm carbs. I need to know how expensive they are and some good places to buy them.
  22. that would be alot better than nothing! Im not sure if im going to gordons or glamis now though?? But thank you for the offer!
  23. I did the same thing Only I used Zipties instead of bolts, and Clear RTV silicone to ensure the plate was sealed against the box, I posted pics ont he old forum heh. Has been working great now for 4 years
  24. nice pics I always wondered what the hell people were talking about Doe sthis make all shifting easier or just finding neutral?
  25. GRR finaly just called me back about the porting...too late... I already shipped my cylinders to Passion racing this morning because I needed it to be done by thanksgiving, and Jim Seems to really know his stuff too....Well see how it goes. At least I finaly made a decision lol. I appreciate how GRR did not make fun of me for sending my stuff elsewhere, or talk shit or anything, they just said, well if you ever need anything else just let us know. Unlike some other places...
