  1. This is very handy with caller ID, Next time Someone crank calls my house they are going to be sorry!
  2. Actualy I decide to take it to SamCo forTrue/Weld. It cost me exactly $90 and they threw in the K&S bottem end seal kit for free. I belived they used chromoly and they made 4 welds. Ill post some pictures later. They also trued and welded it without removing the bearings which may have saved me the cost of replacing them also.
  3. whats wrong with your stock carbs? Also how much better are the 33mm PWK flatslides keihin's vs the 34mmPJ Keihin's? A local place quoted me $300 for the 34mm PJ's w/ free dyno tune. But they don't sell the 33mm carbs. I Have porting on the way thats to passionRE, so I just need to decide which to get. I have some time to decide though Thanks, JI
  4. YES but every year the DMV registers my quad, i get a green sticker instead of a red one, so I get to ride whenever the hell i want to
  5. they are not checking yet, but they could potentil start checking on a big weekend liek thanksgiving, I hope not because thats the first chance I may get to ride my shee this season.
  6. Looking at Dyno charts between FMF and toomy I can see Toomy's have more top, but FMF's make more power than toomys everywhere throughout the powerband except for a little bit on top. So for me I like FMF's since im constantly speeding up around the big bowls and slowing down a little for the transition from one dune to another. For hill shooting the FMF's will pull out first (assuming both atv's are identical in every other aspect and properly jetted equal rideser etc) But after you hit your max speed the Toomys will be behind you slowly gaining on ya...or thats how it should work compairing dyno tests to he T5's Vs Fattys. Im not sure how the SST and T6's compair but I hear fattys will be better than SST's if you decide to someday get porting again acording to dynos. However CPI's are better than both when ported.
  7. Good question, Im wondering the same thing but I doubt they will. I mean dosent someone have to complain about the noise first? I have FMF's and they do not make a hush kit. Im wondering how 90% of the people with non stock bikes will be able to ride if so? I don't think 4 strokes will be able to pass with aftermarket pipes either
  8. you mean you stripped the threads on the end of the crank?
  9. you sure its not leaknig right out of the drain bolt? if you lost the copper or aluminum washer when you changed the oil the drain bolt will slowly drip tranny oil.
  10. I heard its a good time to add Heavy Duty clutch springs, mine is appart too and im definately gong to get the HD springs. You might want to look at gettign a new crank if yours is in bad shape. After looking around for new parts for mine RODS and bearings, I decided it was wortht he $50 more to just buy a new fucking crank thats rebuildable. at $40 a bearing and $90 a rod I don't understand why anyone would even consider replacing the parts on the old crank. If your crank is in good shape have it trued and welded while your in there. replace all the seals too if you can.
  11. Is your Banshee stock pipes? or what? Also how did the 450 do in handeling and suspension ride vs the banshee. It looks like it has better suspension than my shee. Don't get me wrong I love my shee but im wondering if it is a good dune cruiser for an alternative atv.
  12. Good question! I ride at glamis often and get to see how different ATV's do. I have always like 250R's for the dunes besides a banshee. They are still great bikes with that 2-stroke power. I got to ride one of those kawasaki 400's and it was a blast too, feelt like it didn't matter what gear I was riding in...I was thinking about geting one for a 4-stroke alternative. The raptors seem to do fine also but kinda big. But I had to go lookup the new yamy 450. That thing looks fucking sweet, can't wait till i get to ride one of those. Im doubting it will give the banshe any Competition when racing but it looks like it may be a GREAT atv. I just hate buynig things the first year they are out because they need to have a chance to work out the bugs. Im also looking around for an ATV but its going to have to be used since I don't have $7000 for that new 450. Im guessing the 450 will have better handeling than the suzuki-kawasaki's but only time will tell.
  13. I use golden spectro 80 weight in my tranny, don't think it really 80 weight though when compaired to other tranny oils. Working great so far but it's expensive so I only change it every 2-4 trips depending on how much money I have and how much riding I do. it says it is fabricated for 2-stroke transmitions. I hear that using regular automotive trany oil will eventualy wear down your clutch and tranny because it lacks an additive that 2-stroke tranny oil contains.
  14. start in second and give him the smokage.
  15. Interesting, what about weight? I always like sand tires unlimited because their tires are usualy much lighter than other brands with the same design.
  16. yea i know ricky stator has great prices but the stock stator should be worth this much also.
  17. Skate II's I think are the best all around paddle tire for glamis. Unless your just going to drag or care more about that aspect, then it's skat tracks all the way.
  18. Yea, you can cut off the little plastic bars and just use the backplate piece for the K&N.. I have mine ziptied and siliconed with cler RTV silicon to the airbox. Works fine for 4 years now.
  19. it really sucked how little support there was on sunday. One hellicopter on sunday morning as we watched some houses burn down, It was not suprising the fire grew so fast. The area I live was almost compleatly surrounded by flame by monday, both freeways on both sides of us were closed. the fire was probably the biggest disaster I have lived through in San Diego so far, much worse than any others. As much as i would like to complain it has to be even worse for those who lost family and friends and also those who have been left temporarily homeless. Guess having the fire department next to my parents house really did pay off this time though. Im just glad it's all over now, at least for most of us in san diego...It almost seemed unreal and we are still shaken up by it.
  20. I think it all depends on what you want to do. The first thign i bought were paddle tires cause I need them where I ride. Then pipes and air filter. Then I went DOWN to a 13 tooth sprocket for better dune gearing. Headlights were a must for me also because I go on nightrides and the stock lights are POSs. Ended up getting porting before suspension and extended arms becase my topend was losing compression by the time I had some money after the first mods and the initial cost of buying the Banshee. Don't feel bad though I payed about $7000 for my banshee new. I have about $2000 in mods and Im still nowhere near some of these guys shee.
  21. I too live in Sand Deigo. In el cajon to be more exact. My parents had to wake up at 3 am on sunday because they live near blossem valley. We had to evaquate their horses and help neighbors whos homes had already burned down. Around noon we had to leave the house because the fire was so close. later that Day I had to start loading up near my home also because the fire was only a mile away...No fun loading a banshee that is in pieces either! Luckily the fire never crossed back over the freeway near my home...My parents were allowed to return a day or 2 later to find their house still standing but compleatly surrounded by burn crap. We are all ok now though. Some of their neighbors on the same street were not so fortunate.
  22. I hope to have my shee back together by thanksgiving. not sure where I will be going but a good chance it will be gordons. Ill let you guys know as I get it back together. I figure if I can get my crank welded and all the parts by next week I just might have a chance.
  23. Looks just like my 2000 banshee. Mine smokes that much also but after Im riding for a while it calms down a little. I also mi 32 to 1...No idea on your compression though.
  24. so its ok to leave in the existing rods? THe place i was going to take it too said there is one bearing I must replace because it will be damage when they remove it?
  25. Well origionaly I was just to get my stock one welded (its not broken or anything). Do I really just need to replace the whole thing? I can't really afford that right now. Can I jsut replace some of the parts? If so which ones?
