get ricky stators adjustable timing plate, it's not that much more expensive than the key. http://www.rickystator.com You can advance or retard your timing to whatever you want, probably +4
-
I think they were like $80 but you could probably find them for less.

Hey guys, Im guesing it does not matter which way the reed gaskets go, But I noticed there is a plain side and a side with stripes, I also noticed when I removed them that one side wanted to stick more than the other, but this could have just been cowincidence. Does it matter which Way I put them?

There is not a huge difference between T5's and Fattys, except that after porting the Fattys offer a couple more HP...Stock they hit before the toomys but lose 1-2 HP on top...Both are great for sand.
-
I hear the V-force are a little better.

not HighSchool, college lol...InFlames I might go with you guys if it's cool, we can test out our porting, I know I'm going to need a swingarm like you got! How was the swingarm last trip? SDD going too?

And I thought the Alba hoses were too expensive!
-
what is the name of the hoses that can withstand the high temps? I have been trying to figure this out forever. Otherwise ALBA has plastic like - clear hoses for $90, they are really nice but I don;t have that kind of money for hoses! Is there any kind of neon dye? I need something neon so it will glow with my lighting when I get it hooked up.

I might be there, but it appears school would like to prevent me from putting the banshee back together this weekend...I have all the parts just need a couple consistant hours of free time! All I see to get is 10min to an hour here and there... I gotta get out of this place!

my "OLDER" style light is fucking ugly as hell, it's big and bulkey and huge. It came with my 2000. I like the flat looking ones much better...No big deal though since I removed it cmpleatly. let me know if you want it I'll ever go back from my mod in progress.

Step By Step To Lift The Needle?
Justintoxicated replied to STLbanshee's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
I did mine without removing anything, jsut pulled the carb off the boots turned it and took the cap off..However, now that I have air tools, I'll probably just pull the tank off because its a pain in the ass the other way with the TORS on your carbs. -
Well, I don't putt putt around all day, that's for damn sure, and if your talking straight sand all the time, I sure as hell wouldn't have fatties either. If your gonna build a bike for the dunes, theres a lot of shit I'd do differently, but thats not how I want my bike setup. I may lose 5hp from some other setup, but I sure as hell didn't lose 5hp from the stock carbs. On the other hand, I feel my bike does just fine in the sand, and it setup just the way I want it. Like I said before, to each is his own, and thats what makes this so great, is anything is obtainable. There is something there for everyone, and not everyone rides sand 100% of the time. Fattys are great for the dunes, and my friend has a single carb, when the tops stops pulling he just hits the NOS...swears by it...But I'll keep my dual carbs

Justintoxicated replied to jstaguy24's topic in General Banshee Discussion
So Cal is great, except for all the jerks on the freeway. And the housing cost is through the roof, soon I will need 1 million dollars just to buy a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom house...Hence why I have not moved out, I think ill need around $70,000 a year just to get a condo..I can forget about ever owning a house here, and right now I'm not even sure im in the double digits Oh well graduating this semester... -
Where Do The Rings Need To Be?
Justintoxicated replied to FoxBansheeRacing's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
there are 2 pins in the pistons, the ring's space needs to be aligned with those 2 pins and you should lube your cylinders, and compress the rings before sliding them down over the pistons -

Reed Gaskets, Re-use Or Replace?
Justintoxicated replied to Justintoxicated's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
well I guess I might a well replace them since I have spares, I'll toss the 3 used (non-ripped) ones I have in a zip lock for backup. -
I'd just keep the stockers untill you can upgrade, unless you switch to the smaller lights you won't see much improvement at stock power (perhaps slightly better optics but not much especialy when going larger)...Once you get your stator re-done then you can go for the larger optic lights. It's all about the efficiency of the optics (when using the same type of lighting (Hallogen), smaller lights are very efficient untill the lights in them overwhelm the optics. At stock I noticed my illuminator "appeard about 2-3 times better than stock" when I upped them to 75 watts vs 35, they only got 50% brighter not 100%...But if you go with larger optics, its possible they would appear less bright at 35 watts because that is not what the optics were designed around... The smaller lights are MUCH more efficient at 35 watts than the hellas, my friend had a re-wound stator and those hellas w/ 55 watt hallogens, and I had the 2 tiny illuminators pictured and mine were noticable brighter (or perhaps just a better beam) but they "appeared" brighter at 35 watts than his did at 55 watts. When I got my stator re-done and 75 watt hallogens in those little lights there is no comparison. Although if he tossed in 75 watt halogens in those hellas, things could get interesting, in guessing they would make more use of the additional lumens going from 55 to 75 than my little illuminators would. needless to say he wanted to switch. If your going to run anything over 75 watts definately go with the larger lights... @ 35-55 the smaller lights will produce a more usable beam. @75 its a toss up (since you can't mount to handle bars), but in guessing the larger optic lights would pull ahead in total lumens thrown) If you want the brightest shit, Definately go with some HID's

Modifying Head Light Bezzles
Justintoxicated replied to Cotton eyed Joe's topic in General Banshee Discussion
hey meat, thnaks for the heads, up..I was just going to perform an LED mod to mine.. Which lights provide more of a flood beam the stock ones or these auto zone ones? I'm tempted to toss some 5 watt LED's in them and angle them to the side for some flood lighting in the dunes. I figure the 5 watters should be about as bright as the stock headlights, maybe a little less, but far superior in bulbs and light quality, especialy for how much power they draw. Let me know thanks, JI -
I got the ricky stator illuminators. I have not yet had a problem with them coming loose like some of the other similar style lights I hear about. They are a little mroe difficult to change the bulbs, but are also secured better by the interlocking ring and one piece design. I prefer them to be mounted with my handle bars in the dune, this way they turn with the bike, instead of turning then being able to see. I mostly ride dunes, and even with 35 watt bulbs they were much better than my stock 2000 lights( Which sucked) Right now im running those with 75 watt bulbs and a 200 watt ricky stator stator. if your going to go over 75 watts though, you will get better throw with larger reflectors, I just don't like the way big lights look as much. Smaller reflectors will give you better lighting with less watts. Although Mine ware WAY WAY brighter than stock! I can't stand those things, I was going to remove mine, but Im thinking about modding them with some 5 watt LEDs and pointing them off to the sides for flood lighting. Wallrats setup is definately alot cheaper though, and those look pretty decent too! Mine were over $200 just for the lights.

Or you can save up and get a nice head like the noss head, A little mroe $$ but well worth it IMO. Especialy if you plan on getting more engine work in the future. Although milling it is definately more bang for the $. go .3 over, at sea level otherwise you might have to run race gas.
