Okay on my stock reed cages their are two vertical lines on one side I am just trying to figure out if they go on top or bottom? I installed them with the lines on the bottom.

Ok guys I took my left reed cage out and it looks good. (that's the one that was bubbling air through it.) I also held the carbs upside down and blew throug hthe fuel inlet and it is air tight. turned it right side up and air gets through. I am stumped, it has to be the floats or its blown up. But it runs good on choke when I first fire her up. I have new plugs I am gonna put her back together and see if that helps. Here are pics of my reed cage. Okay now is this the top of the cage or bottom? I don't know maybe I put them in upside down.

Well I tried almost everything. I can't figure it out. I am gonna make a leak down tester and buy a compression gauge and go from there. If it isn't any of those two things I will get new reed petals. I am just curious when you say a stuck ring on the clutch side, are you refering to a piston ring that welded itself to the piston?

It ran good before it backfired and quit, I tore it apart and found that old chunk of hose under the needle seat (don't ask me how it even got there) It was jammed in the hole under the seat (roughly the same size as the hole) Only problem it had before was a slight low end bog. Out of all those things you just said the only it could be is the reeds or floats. I set the floats at 13/16 of an inch and the reeds looked good with no chips or cracks but I am getting air feedback through the left reed cage.

Remember when it was legal to ride in the bed of a truck? Not anymore, I think seat belt laws are fucking retarded.
