  1. was there any particular reason you went with the 08's?

Yea because i found them for $125 haha i honestly didn't care if they were o7'-08's when i was searching i was happy finding a set to swap out,the stock suspension was horrible and doing this i really enjoy riding more because the way it handles-i can hit the whoops in 5th gear now and it soaks them up with ease (still need to do something with the rear) good luck and keep us posted,

  2. thanks for all the help guys! i just got my arms for $30! Also got spindles hubs rotors for $31 on ebay! so i got under $70 into it so far!!

Score-that is a smoking deal so far. i started my conversion using the banshee spindles and wasn't happy with the travel so picked up a set of spindles/rotors/hubs from a yfz and was much happier gained 3-4 more inches of travel (over 11" total now)and just rides better. i ended up using tierods from nossmachine. think they were in the $30 range and he makes them specifically for the swap.

  3. I have an extra set of arms from a raptor 700-these are the same as the yfz450 arms. the ball joints feel good however the threads are a little beat up from the original owner hitting the nut to get them off the spindles so it kind of chewed up the threads but should be able to be re-threaded and used, there is also a couple good dents on the bottom (bottom painted black)side but are not bent and usable. condition reflects the price and buyer needs to know these will be usable with a little work. $80 plus shipping

  4. Im in the same boat! Do I need yfz spindels because I just installed my yfz 450 a arms. Do i need the yfz tie rods with banshee spindels? Im also running the yfz 450r shocks with the piggy backs??? Any help would be great!

When i first did the swap i used the yfz arms, tierods and shocks with banshee spindles and it worked good but sat almost 2 inches lower than stock and the tierods only had about 4-5 threads holding them to the ball joints so i broke down and bought a set of longer ones. and now have yfz spindles, hubs, rotors, calipers and ltr450 shocks. good luck

  5. I need some serious clarification......I just installed yfz 450 a arms with 450r shocks. Can I run banshee spindels? Tie rods? What is the travel distance difference between the banshee spindels and the yfz spindels with the "r" shock and how does this work. I can make some plus two tie rods at the shop if needed. Any help would be great guys!!!

Here is a picture i took during my yfz spindle swap.

you can tell the side i changed from the extra 3 inches of travel, my personal opinion (whatever that's worth lol) is to run the yfz spindles with no more than a 17 1/2" shock and i think the r is about 18 1/4" but there are some that have and i would like to know how it works. like this thread http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=112511 good luck

  6. When you do the swap do you use the stock yfz tie rods and the stock banshee spindles?

Yes you can use the stock yfz tie rods with the banshee spindles (04-05 same size ball joints) which is exactly how i ran mine at first but the yfz tie rods only give you about 4-5 threads and i wasn't comfortable with that so i bought a set of the right length noss tie rods. then i really wanted my height back so i upgraded to the yfz spindles as well which gives you about 3 more inches of travel and allows you to run a longer shock and lifts the front a bit. good luck
