  1. Completely new engine..wiseco crank, wiseco .050 pistons, stock head, I did a search and read if the compression guage was shorter than plug it would read lower...this is my guage..shorty!! how much lower will it read..5psi, 10psi??? 110psi just seems low for new top everything..
  2. I just overhauled my shee..after an hour of riding and tuning I developed a rattling noise from right side...turned out clutch adjustment nut come loose (guess I didn't tighten it good enough) anyhow it come loose and went through crank/clutch gear and busted my clutch cover..
  3. General rule of thumb for wiseco is .004 for every inch of bore.. I usually round up the half an inch and go with the full .012 or if over a three inch bore I go to .016..reason is the wiseco piston is tapered less at top for heat expansion by about .014 in total..Use the finest grit file you have and be sure to debur where you filed..a drimmel tool and buffer tip works good..oh yeah..file in one direction only!!! Back and forth filing can stress rings and cause stress fractures = head ache down the road..
  4. Thanks for info..I've got extra covers and cases just for stuff like this..I buy crap off ebay just to have a spare in garage to keep my riding going with less down time..
  5. Been working on my carbs trying to find my bogging problem..well did a test run yesterday and heard a noise from engine...well everything worked fine except for the bogging...I played with carbs alittle more and went for another ride..then as soon as I reached top speed I heard a bang and a grind from engine and lost my clutch at same time...Looked down and tranny fluid everywhere...MY CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT NUT CAME LOOSE AND RUN THROUGH GEARS AND TORE MY BASKET ALL TO HELL!!!! cracked my cover too!!! WTF guess I'll be tearing it back down so I can clean the cases and check for hidden garbage in tranny....ALL I NEED NOW IS ANOTHER SNOWBALL!!!!! ::
  6. Nope, checked that twice....I just took it around the block after pitting the carbs back on from cleaning them and looking them over...runs better..still no smoke at all and no bottom end take off power..I sprayed starting fluid around joints and nothing happenned..I'm playing with air mix screws now with no luck at all..it stopped the backfiring this morning though..that's a plus!! Although itnwill sound like it throws a heavy shot of air from time to time.........
  7. Yeppers...Stock is fast enough for me..
  8. Just a Private pilot... I don't go flying enough to buy one.. I did go get my G1000 sign off this summer though and start my instrument training in the new G1000 Real nice I might add..
  9. engine, carbs, exhaust, airbox are all stock..no TORS and No PARKING BRAKE SWITCH  I don't know what the jet numbers are. I would say they could be wrong but the bike ran good originally after carbs where overhauled. I'm going to tear the carbs down again and reset the float levels and check for dirt in gas..
  10. Names Robert and I'm new to this forum..I have been building dirt bikes for 20yrs now..I come here for help as I am stumped. I read alot of info from here all the time and I did a search but couldn't find my answer as I feel I have exhausted my knowledge on this...what I have is a 99 shee I just rebuilt engine in along with carbs.. The bike yesterday ran good but had a little unburnt fuel dripping from left side silencer..well first thought was float not right since had wet drain tube...I readjusted carb float..same thing...shee smoked alot from rleft side also..well today I tried leaning my needles..lost all bottom end and power..but quit the horrible smoking..I put the needle clip back to the center notch..well now it still bearly smokes, radiator is gargling when I shut it off..I sprayed starting fluid around eveyrthing and found no leaks, I have tried everything from 3/4 turns too 2 turns on air/fuel mix adjustment and yes carbs are in sync..well this after noon I found my right plug boot loose and fixed it ..but still runs like mud...Compression is 132lbs both sides and passed leak down test 6lbs for 10 minutes..Darn thing seems to be running lean to me but nothing is clogged up...I should of left well enough alone since it ran good yesterday..oh yeah as of today she started doing some back firing from both sides..??? any thoughts or questions are greatly appreciated..Robert
