  1. Anyone use this stuff? Is it any good? The local VP warehouse has some and is selling it at closeout price. About 1/3 the price of the actual Yamaha trans oil. I currently use Rotella and have had good luck with it.

     

    i personally dont know if it would be good for the engine, but 75wt means 20 viscosity.. which is like SAE 10w-20, which is thinner than what yamaha recommends.. in my opinion its too thin, 30 viscosity is by itself thin enough.. but other people who might have used it may be able to help you out here

    If your not worried about power go buy a honda and ride that.

     

    I run 50:1 all day long and have never had a problem.

     

    lol :), no its funny cause my friends who ran 32:1 had it blow up after every new top end, he finally mixed 20:1 and it never blew up again.

     

    that was using klotz super techniplate.

     

    each motor is different and i guess his is just "weird" but im just doing 29:1 also because the measurements is an exact multiple of 10 for the amount of gas i get.

    and why the fuck are you running 29:1? thats stupid.

     

    29:1, to be safe... its better to put more oil, it does not damage the motor, i dont care about more power i want a longer lasting top end. its not like you can only do 32:1, or 24:1, thats just retarded, its a motor, there is no "special numbers" theres nothing wrong with 27.5:1, 28:1 etc.

     

    checked the coolant fomr the overflow bottle, its exactly where it was as last time, weird, but if it was coolant it was surely very little.. because it stopped after and runs fine since then and no more smoke coming.

     

    if i have a bad head gasket, is it possible that it runs fine with no coolant leaking, and only rarely coolant gos in the cyl?? or if its a broken gasket it must constantly be leaking?

  4. I've had that happen a couple times. It happens when you pussy foot around, and the silencers get wet, from unburnt 2stroke oil. Then, you romp on it real hard, and get the exhaust super hot, then the oil burns out of the pipes.

     

    well im mixing rich, 29:1, and im pretty rich on the jetting after i did a plug chop. i should be at 280 mains, im at 300s, and i always have huge black oil all around my exhaust leaking down on my exhaust silencer.

     

    so maybe its that. but yeah i guess it could be the head gasket but when i told my friend that he said no way its that, because a gasket cant randomly break if it was perfect for the last 6 months.. unless i remove the head and put it back nothing can go wrong by itself.

  5. Hey guys, yesterday i raced some random car.

     

    the raced finished, and i stopped ( motor still running), then i look back and see loads of grayish white smoke coming from the exhaust ( i was not revving it and it was on neutral) and LOADS of thick visible colored smoke was coming.. meaning it wasnt see through it was a thick grayish white color.

     

    so i quickly turned it off. and for the next 20 minutes the right side exhaust only was still smoking just a little bit, this kind of smoke was just normal smoke, the normal color, like if somethings burning kind of smoke and little was just flowing out of the exhaust non stop for 20 minutes, untill i decided to fire it up, it fired up easily, then i let it run for 2 seconds and shut it off. The smoke then left, and would not come anymore when off.

     

    i then fired it up again and rode it home, and rode it again 2 hours later, all was fine.

     

    can anyone tell me what exactly happened? lol?

  6. This is funny. Last summer at happy hollow in peebles ohio i was on my 87(it belonged to my GF at the time) It was all stock except for some REALLY old bills pipes.

     

    They have a 800ft drag strip that is measured at 300ft--500ft--and 800ft.

    There was a guy there on a raptor 700 that was one week old. Everyone always plays around on the dragstrip it is usualy the center of attention. Well he kept waving at me to come over and race him but i kept refusing,and this went on for a while,everytime i was near the strip he would try to wave me over.

     

    Well finally i gave in,and lined up,and to my surprise actualy,i was ahead the whole way,even got him off the line. His front wheels were about 1-2 feet behind my back wheels @ 500ft

    Well we pull around and he says,"lets go again,i need to get a better start". Second time he gets me off the line,never pulls ahead and i had passed him by the time we were @300ft.

    We pull around again and he says "we need to switch sides,your side has better traction". So we switched and i outran him 2 more times. It was funny. He asked me what year it was,i said 1987.

     

    Point is,A decent running banshee with t5's should be able to take a stock raptor everytime as long as you can launch it good and you have traction.

     

    I wish i would have had a damn video camera that day

     

    let me say one thing.

     

    banshees kill raptors easily.

     

    mods in my sig, i killed a raptor 700 MODDED. (CPU injector, pipes, filter, cam)

     

    well i ddnt kill him, but i beat him by like 3 lengths, and the race was long enough, i was ALL out on sixth for atleast a GOOD 5 secs before i hit finish line.

     

    i had a sick start and everything aswell as he did, equal rider skill ABOUT. and he weighs exactly HALF my weight.

     

    maybe his bike was shit but i highly doubt it. ive beaten a stock yfz aswell easily when my shee was stock.

     

    you will beat him with the mods in your bike if you are same skill in riding and close to the same weight.. guarantee.

     

    oh and all races mentioned are on road, not sand. or rocky/ hard sand.

    i got both leaks i think at the same place.. they are not on the visible side, i just put my hand at the bottom of the pipe and and i can even fell it being ruff and not smooth from all the dried oil, i hope that you guys dont have the same problem, and yes i will try asap to post pics of it.

     

    they are also a pain to put on. but worth the massive top end power they give.

    thats the only problem i find with DMC's. they perform great but i got 2 leaks from the welds on the pipe.. black oil coming from them slowly..

  9. heya... the lights on my banshee are weird.. they work on and off.. when i switch it on it go's on then after 5 sec it startes going on and off really quickly by itself.. then it go's completely off.. but then when i rev it high it gos back on then on off.. then completely off.. etc etc...

     

    this isnt a stator problem knowing it runs perfect... meaning it has nothing wrong with the spark/ stator.. right?

  10. So I just finished rebuilding my top end. As I was just putting new transmission oil and coolant back in I noticed that I could only put 1 and 1/2 quarts in and it was full. The specs. on it says it should be 2.64 qts with .30 of that being in the reservoir which was already full so if there is suppose to be 2.34qts in there without the reservoir. So any clue why the rest of the .84 isn
  11. well.. if you mean by "sputtering", if thats the noise im thinking about now it means your rich...( i noticed because whenever i rich the needle or mains too much i get this weird "sputtering noise" and mid throttle, and gets smoother when i hit full throttle, and i still have that noise till now.

     

    and shouldnt he be fine jetting? he only added a pipe/ silencer, and jetted up 2 sizes, just for pipes... that sounds right to me.

     

    over here, if someone just pipes shees or blaster, they dont even rejet and it runs perfect ( thats strictly if they ONLY pipe it and keep snorkel on), thats funny how in the US you guys jet up 8 sizes just for pipes keeping the stock restrictive filter + lid + snorkle..

  12. just a question ive always wondered ( sorry off topic kinda), are lectrons usually really expensive because they are like the best brand for carbs? or they have something special that other carbs dont?

     

    cause the name is just sick :P "lectron" sounds as if they must be really good.. :P

  13. heya, about how much would a stock banshee do in max RPM... and also how much would just a piped/ filtered one like mine ( mods in sig) do, about 10k max? i was talking to a mate... and i mentioned (from a guess) i thought my shee does max max 9.5k rpm, he said nooo it can do 12k-14k

     

    so... who is right? :P

     

    also i felt a difference in max RPM when i modded it.. the 9.5k i mentioned was my guess with my mods
