I put it together using the clymers exactly. And im 100% sure there are not too many parts or missing parts. I have 3d modeled a working clutch to try and figure what the problem could be. Im just lost to say the least. I dont want to drop 800$ on a hinson kit just to destroy it lol.

Is there a possible way that the pressure plate could spin free from the hub? Thats the only thing i can think of that would shear the studs like that. Maybe the pressure plate wasnt in the grooves on the inner hub? This doesnt seem to be a problem that happens often. Another thing I thought of was maybe I didnt put the 6 bolts in far enough and they caught on the cover?

And yes, stock 7 plate setup.

Yea, I was riding it gently and this happened when I let the clutch out to accelerate after a turn. Also I would like to add in that my ring gear on my basket is loose. Almost like the cusions are completely shot. Could that have anything to do with it? I havnt yet bought a new clutch kit yet and before I do I would like to know why this is happening, hopefully the collective know how of bhq can help. This is the second time this has happend. First time was trying to move up a hill after I stalled it because I had to slam on the brakes while climbing. Some guy came took the corner at the top to go down and didnt hear me hauling ass up the hill.

Is the Hinson or Wiseco inner hubs compatible with the stock basket and pressure plate? Are the aftermarket ones even any more durable thank OEM?

Looks like im going to have to read the book again.

For the third time, I have managed to shear the studs on my inner hub. The first I over tightened and the 2nd two I tightened to spec at 7 ftlbs. Why does this keep happening to me haha.
Mods are:
Stock Motor w/ Vito's SS pistons
Gnarleys
Rad Valves

You got the inner hub for the clutch? If so how much
-
After market clutch basket, hub and plate? How much on just the inner hub if its stock?

Thanks all, turns out I had the carb slides switched and backards. Explains all my issuses. I made a rookie mistake and I am confirmed for pants on head retarded. The shame is almost unbearable.

I rebuilt the top end because my rings were worn down and it was do anyways.
anyways..
I have no idea where to start with tuning this thing. Ive been trying for 2 days to tune this thing and I havnt got anywhere. Ive read the Jetting sticky a few times, googled my problems and no solution has worked. It was tuned fine for my previously dirty K&N filter (its clean and oiled now) and I just cant seem to dial it in. Ive increased the pilot jets and its seemed to help the idle out, but it will idle fine for 3 minutes or so then rev out and I shut it off. It goes from barely idling then to wide open all by itself. I have checked and rechecked for leaks and there is none, it also blows out heavier than normal smoke and above normal unburnt oil out of the exhaust header pipe. It only really blows out extra unburnt oil when it revs high, say from 1/2 to Wot. The extra oil coming out as mentioned concerns me because it was never like that before.
Im 300ft above sea level
fmf gnarly pipes
radvalves
vitos prostock pistons
and a K&N filter with the lid on the airbox (no snorkel)
stock carbs
airscrew is 1.5 turns out
280 mains
30 pilots
I increased the pilot because it ran better with the choke out a click and also i took the airscrews out about 3 turns

How many suzes you think? One or two?

Last week I decided that i was gonna clean my k&n air filter which was caked in dirt, which has been tuned all summer for the clogged filter. I cleaned it and took the carbs off and cleaned them too. And after all the cleanin and maintance I fired it up and it ran horribly. Thick white smoke and oil coming out of the header at the motor and dripping out of the left silence. So after getting frustrated I ordered new rings and gaskets for the top end, got them installed them and still Im blowing thick white smoke. It passed a leak down test and all the bearing seals were good so now my question is how do I fix it? I have read thru the jetting faq a few times and I just dont understand the direction I need to go. My buddy says bigger pilots and mains for the increased air, im thinking smaller mains because of all the unburnt oil. It runs slightly better with the chole half open but it still bogs in the top end and just blows smoke. I have a stock motor with FmF gnarleys and Vitos Superstock Pistons as my only mods. Ive got a trip to Wayne National Forest comin up and I would appreciate any help.
Current carb setup
Mains jets = 280
Pilots = stock
Air screw = 1.5 turns out

You need 64.5 m&m rings I would get them from Vito's unless you can confirm they are the same as weisco
On vitos website they have rings for vitos/wiseco pistons. I mean my pistons has the W stamp on em but they have a chamfer where the exhaust port is. I read that that little chamfer is supposed to mimic a small port job on stock motors and add HP
-
Im replacing my Rings and top end gaskets, seems I have a set of Vito's pistons and the size on top says 64.42. Does that take a 65.00mm ring? and will only wiseco rings fit it?

got that fucker out! just in time for football!

welding a nut on there sounds like a good idear. Ill give that a shot for sure
-
you better pull the motor all the way out and clean it completely. i'm sure there are lil pieces of metal crap in the trans no matter how much you" flush it" better just yank it now.
geuss you're right. No way around doing it right I suppose
-
the section of the screw that allowed for a flat head to be used was sheared off, and i tried using vice grips to lock on and turn it and it didnt do anything. last thing i can do is drill it out and get an extractor set. shit.

Yesterday I noticed my Shee wasnt shifting right. The lever just had wayyy too much play in it. So I ripped the clutch cover and all that off and found this. the orange circle highlights my issue. How the hell do I get that little guy out with out breaking the motor down even more?
-
Mannn.... Fuck lol. Thanks bros. Ill give it a shot and see wut happens
-
I may have overdone it with the oil on second thought. If i did is there any way to correct it besides buying a new filter?
-
Used a k&n restoration kit i bought at a local yamaha dealer and I followed instructions. Runs perfect with the filter off btw. Elevation is about 100ft above sealevel
