  1. Keep in mind when on sand you want more tire than wheel to keep you floating on the top. If you have the choice and don't mind the look I'd stick with 8" wheels. I went from a v style 10" to a straight style 8" and noticed a day and night difference in my whole shot and speed at the hill. It also made regular duning alot easier since it reduced low speed digging with an acceptable loss of turning performance (I barely notice). I am using an 8 paddle 21x12x8 hauler, and love it. The only thing I'll be changing is to go to a hauler extreme when I get some more cash together. Gonna use the reg haulers on my stock banshee.
  2. I'll keep an eye out for you guys, I'm heading up Thurs night and will be there all weekend. I usually end up closest to the dunes at the back of wash 6. Gonna have a small group there. Two of us are taking our girls out to get them comfortable riding so it may be a little on the slow side. It will be my girlfriends first time on a quad and she's gonna learn on a banshee. Should be fun. A few of us may have to look you guys up and tag along for a real trip through the sand.
  3. I know this is an older topic but I am interested in this upgrade and was wonering if the stock stator would charge the battery at all or do you have to charge the battery every few rides.
  4. The vent was one of the first things I checked and it was fine, it was just odd that it didn't blow the gasket out like you would expect, it seemed to pull or suck it in.
  5. Thanks for the advice, I was leaning towards the pro design anyways. I am gonna search for a good pic of that star and take care of that as well. I'll have to find someplace to order it all from now. I am also gonna try to strip the paint off the cover while its off, just to play with the looks some.
  6. Thats what I was hoping to hear about the broken gasket not being a sign of any other problems. I am going to go ahead and order the full Cometic gasket set cause it never hurts to have extra gaskets around, and I am also going to go ahead and replace all the seals and o'rings. The water pump impeller is now on that list as well (either Vitos or a pro design). I am curious as to the shift star mod though Grim, is it something I could do? I build transmissions for a living so I am sure I would have the tools but is there a how to on it? I feel dumb asking this stuff but I'm a newbie to quads and esp 2-strokes. I went from never owning one to having 3 Banshees in less than a year. I may be addicted.
  7. Got my first Glamis trip of the season in a couple of weekends ago and for some reason my clutch cover gasket seemed to suck down and cause a nice leak over the top of the case. I was able to patch it and finish out the weekend with only a small drip rather than a gush but I wanted to know if this is something common that happens for a reason or just a tired gasket that needed replacing. If there is nothing to worry about and I just need to replace the gaskets and seals on the cover does anyone have any reccomendations on a gasket set or should any set do? Are there any other things (mods or checks) I could or should do while I got the cover off?
  8. Got the trail techs running on a stock stator and they are a huge improvement over stockers plus a way better look IMO. Uses stock mounts and easy to install. Good luck!
  9. Get the numbers checked for sure. First off if you bought a stolen bike you may as well have stolen it yourself since you are supporting the persons bad will on other people. Plus checking the numbers now might mean the difference between finding out that you got a great deal on a good project bike that is worth putting some more cash into, or going to jail cause the cops ran those numbers one day while you were out riding and losing out on all that cash you just dumped into it. I hope you got lucky and found a good deal from someone that just needed the cash, but if not I hope the guy that got the bike ripped off from him will be nice enough to kick you a couple of bucks for getting it returned to him and hopefully getting the bastard that stole it off the street and away from the rest of our bikes!! I HATE THIEVES!! $200 is not such a good deal if you get caught with a stolen bike by the cops. Not to mention if you get caught by the guy it belongs to!
  10. What would I be looking at for a titled frame (black or silver), a full set of plastics in good condition (black or white), a set of those nerfs, and a thumb throttle all combined and shipped to 85233?
  11. e-mail sent
  12. PM Sent on wheels and paddles
  13. Check pm on frame.
  14. $$ sent, I would spend more than that on just one stupid mistake it might help me to avoid.
  15. gearbox

    intake boots

I am also looking for a few stock cross tubes to replace the boost bottles that I can see will lead to nothing but trouble.
  16. Pics of the nerfs? Condition?
  17. Looking to fix a busted up bike I have just sittin in the garage. I need a straight a-arm frame (preferably 2000 or later as mine is an 03) with clean title, full set of black plastics in decent condition, a good set of hanlebars (preferably aftermarket), and a thumb throttle assembly. This poor bike went end over hard and I guess its time to bring her back from the dead. I am in the phoenix area and won't be opposed to shipping for the right price. Thanks
