  1. i would. and inspect the click pack depending on the hours it has also these are handy http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/tools/...h_holding_tool/ may check the forks and shft cam(not sure if it's the proper name) also
  2. so it's coming on pipe at 1000-1500rpm off idle? i'm not seeing anything to complain about.
  3. Just curious if anyone ever went through with fuel injection? Last time i was into stuff a couple people were working on it but haven't heard anything since then
  4. this is the part were you learn to ride not just hit the throttle  I'm not going to suggest messing with the needle but i will say sometimes a shim to make a half step helps. what rpm are you guessing it comes on pipe at? did you find out the range of those toomeys?
  5. OT: IF everything is right how is that going to hurt it? i guess being fat could wash but that wouldn't be right some questions that hasn't been asked yet is what ratio do you mix your oil and what oil are you using? even being rich that plug looks more oil rich than anything. how old is this snap-on gauge? some other things to check on the carbs is the play in the slide. that brass pin can back out and wear. This can cause issues. if you want to run with the lid off a easy way is to take a drill bit the size of a small screw you'll use and drill the plastic flang on each side of the top so it spins without biting. then take a smaller bit and drill the airbox(or run the screw in) so you have the right gap for the lid to fit on. when you bolt it on the top like this you can take the lid off and everything stays sealed. there is a good sized radiator for a reason! if you want to putt in the woods pick up a quad more liking to this type of riding.
  6. Like mopar said you may want to up your mains. Your jetting now is what mine likes on stock pipes with the only other mods being a mild port clean up and removed snorkle (~500-600' elev.). Banshees have never been known for their low end so you'll need to adjust your riding style if your coming from 4 strokes. Your pipe will have alot to do with what rpm your quad will come on pipe so if your are wanting more bottom end you may be able to find one tuned a little lower(not sure what t5's range is). Don't quote me on this since it's been awhile since i've thought about this stuff and forgot most everything but i'm thinking the flat exhaust ports have something to do with this also.
  7. I'm actually in indiana. Maybe i need to edit my profile. Ya it's strait and i'm being 100% honest in describing it. I was hoping for better than that though. I'm sure parting would get more than that and i'd honestly rather blow buffalo at a nickle a head or give it to a family member than sell it for for a grand. I was hoping 2k with fixing the internals. Has the 4 strokes dropped 2 stroke prices that much?
  8. I'm not thinking is the best first post and not sure if this is the right section but this is the first time i've thought of selling so i'm needing some input. Due to recent health issues i'm needing to step back and sell some things. I have a 95 banshee that i bought used yet new in 97 and have owned since. It has low hours and hasn't been ridden more than a few hours since 01 due to the fact i have no where to ride or anyone to ride with since i'm not a fan of mud and thrashing. The good: Low hours. Plastic and paint(frame) is in good shape for it's age. Always ran 32:1 spectro or klots super techniplate. Spectro gear oil changed religiously. The bad: Original front tires need replaced (alot of on road) and has 400ex rears. Clutch is at the end of it's life as well as the chain IMO. Plastic is purple and is cut(not completely) front fenders. Circle clip from the kick start shaft got chewed on by the main drive gear and the gear on the clutch basket. I replaced the main drive gear and cleaned up the basket gear with a file and hone(I do some smithing). These would need to be replaced but haven't created any particles in the few times it's been started since. Light covers are missing a couple sections. Mods: Minor port clean up. I didn't change the timing but it seemed to come alive after words and likes bigger mains. Polished cover and link. Partial cut front fenders. Grease zerk added to the carrier after the factory bearings(replaced) took a dump with few hours on them. If you ya'll could give me an idea of what to ask for it it would be much appreciated. If the internals are a issue i don't have a problem fixing that and would actually feel better selling it with those fixed but i'm kinda in a pinch with a stack of medical bills about 3" high.
