  1. Stock head...shows how much I know and the wheels are actually pretty light but I'm going to change them eventually, not to worried about it.
  2. Haha! I like my rims...although I broke and had to replace 2 of them, not even riding that hard. I'd like to throw some hipers on there eventually. A buddy of mine has an uncle that owns a powersports shop and he is going to do the cylinders for free. I don't know they guy because I'm in North Carolina and hes in New Hampshire so...I just wanted some input and and maybe hear from someone running a similar set up.
  3. Hey guys, I have a 2004 banshee that I use for trail riding and "free riding" (aimlessly climbing hills, jumping, little bit of drag racing, even play on the mx track sometimes) I bought the banshee used in 07 and I'm pretty sure it's never been rebuilt so I've started tearing it down, going to do all the bearings and bushings in the front and rear suspension, new sprockets n chain, plastic, graphics...pretty much freshen it up a bit. But my main focus is doing some internal mods to the engine, I'm sending my cylinders away to get ported and I don't really know where to go from there, I want to keep my reliability but still have a nasty machine when I grab a handful of throttle. I was thinking about getting a 4mil crank, stock rod length but I've never done such a thing so I dont know what I need...I dont want to run a stroker plate because from what I've been reading, you sacrafice performance with the plates, so I need domes I think? But what do I need to do to make the domes work? any info or suggestions are greatly appreciated...I'm very lost when it comes to internal engine mods. Also, what is the performance difference between a 4 mil crank stock rod length vs 4 mil long rods? I'm leaning towards stock rods because it only makes sense that they would be less likely to break. Here's a pic>>>
  4. Yea, he's aiming pretty cheap, I'm sure if we find one he'll be willing to pay a bit more than 300. Its hard just to find one the way he wants it, complete and stock.
  5. Preferably in or near North Carolina! A friend of mine is looking to get a blown engine to rebuild and put into a drag banshee frame that he has. He's looking to spend no more than $300. If anyone has anything please let me know, thanks!
  6. I'm 21 years old and I've been riding since I was 4, so I like to think of myself as a good, experienced rider. I race MX on my YFZ450R and I free ride on my banshee (this is my 2nd banshee). However, no matter how long you've been riding, you have to admit that sometimes on a 2 stroke, especially on a banshee the sudden powerband sneaks up on you. Well I had my banshee up at Busco Beach ATV park and I was having a good time, the weather was nice and I had a few pals with me and we started riding up a hill, then turning and roosting it and coming back down. When I was doing it, my front end was coming up so I was sliding and wheelieing at the same time and it was fun. Then I went up for my last run, I didn't start making my turn yet so I was going straight up this steep hill and then the powerband kicked in and sent me ass over tea kettle. I saw it coming back and the first thing I did was kick awayfrom it, luckly I got out of its way because I think the handlebars were coming for my upper chest and neck area...I somehow ended up sliding down this hill on my chest and watching my shee rolling over about 4 times down it, it was hard to watch I was thinkin "NO, MY BABY!" and it was taking some hard hits on its way down, I thought there was gunna be some serious damage. Once we both made it to the bottom, I jumped up and ran over to it, all that happend was some of the plastic mounts got bent outta wack up by the radiator cover and my left headlight broke so myself and the shee both lucked out on that one. This was the only time I wiped out on it and hope it is the last! Thanks for readin! Remember, its all fun and games till u hit the powerband unexpectedly.
