  2. Im about 80 miles from busco, I go there all the time. johnnyboy says he can do it thats why he pm'd me if somthing doesnt work out there I will get up with you surfrjag. BTW I was at busco last weekend and caught a 15.5 inch largemouth and 3 lb cat dont remember his length bring your poles!

  8. Alright looking forward to building this and getting her screaming again. Had the banshee since 2007(all stock internals) this is the first rebuild I've done on it!

  10. Hi guys, my 04 had a ring break in the left cylinder so I've pulled the the cylinders, then noticed play in the connecting rods. Good excuses to do a 4mil! I do a lot of "free" riding at my local atv park, trails here and theres and hit the drag strip once in a while. I've purchased the 4 mil, its a short rod but I got a good deal on it. Now for the pistons, cylinders and heads. I have to get the cylinders bored due to scarring, I'm thinking 65.50 mm on stock sleaves with a 4 mil port is this a good set up for my riding style? or should I consider 795 pistons or other options? (I refuse to run spacer plate) This is my first time doing this so any and all input is very appreciated. Also I want to run on pump gas.

  13. Hey guys, my left piston had a ring let go and it scarred my cylinder and piston all to shit. After I had pulled the cylinder off, I grabbed the connecting rod and realized there was a little play side to side, is this normal? Id say its only 1-1.5 mm of play just want to know if I need to replace the crank? Also I ride fast trails, do some minor drag racing and hit the MX track from time to time the internals are all stock specs rightnow, any suggestions on a rebuild? I'd like a 4 mil crank but will probably stick to top end, maybe go high compression? any good top end/cylinder kits out there? Thanks!

  18. So the stroker plate is easier, cheaper and doesn't sacrifice performance...hmmm I may just do that then, I'm not really trying to spend much cash but still want a to be impressed. How difficult is the crank installation? would I be ok to take it to my local powersports shop and have it done or do I need a banshee specialist?
  19. Did you run the new head yet? Curious about the performance difference between aftermarket head w/domes vs stroker plate
  20. If I run a head with interchangeable domes instead of running a stroker plate, will I still be able to run pump gas?

I WAS just going to do the cylinders and new pistons but I figured as long as I have the motor apart, I wanted to put a 4 mil crank into it, I never mentioned it to the other guys yet so the dude that was going to do my cylinders assumes that I was leaving it stock. I don't have a cool head, but I'm getting one. 1200 isnt bad, less than I thought.

  23. Yea, this is the kind of info I've been waiting for, I have owned 2 banshees and have never done internal mods so I don't know these things. Thanks a bunch man! I just ride the machines...I don't work on them (i wish)

Well two of my buddies and I have a mx race team together and jesse (one of the dudes on the team) has an uncle who owns a dealership and so he hooks us up with free riding gear, parts and service when he can. The other 2 guys are getting their heads ported rightnow for free, on 07 rmz250 and a 07 trx450r. They were going to do my yfz but I don't want to tear into it because I just got it back from the dyno so the guys said they would port my banshee cylinders for me, they've done countless banshee engines over the years or atleast that's what they tell me. Thanks for the advice guys, I'm anxious to get this thing beef'd up and runnin!
