  1. Here is a link to the pipes that are on my banshee. Its a bad photo I will try to snap a better picture when i get home today. This is the only one that was loaded on my phone. http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m495/Canonplug/CT%20Pipe/2011-08-16_20-07-57_24.jpg
  2. Mine use to do that as well. My issue was my jetting was to low on the main I had 152's to start now im at 160's and problem solved. May just need a fatter jet.
  3. I would recommend using a foam filter. Everytime I've gone to the dunes and used a K&N's with outerwears it always let sand into the engine. My set up has no Air box though.
  4. Il'll be there, looking foward to seeing all the banshees. Been over 2 yrs since i been back to the dunes.
  5. thanks for the replys think i may try to get a pair of CPI's then will probaly sell my current pipes in the next couple of weeks then.
  6. I would say I ride 80% dunes and about 20% trails. The pipes were really good when all i did was do trails. Now that i do a lot more WOT type riding i was thinking I needed a pipe more suited for that application
  7. Was thinking of getting some new pipes, Currently I have a pair CT pipes mainly a woods/mx pipe they are nice but... I was thinking I should probaly get some high rev pipes to compliment my HJR Dune/Hill shoot port. You guys think that would be a better set up or my current set up is ok? If so what pipes would you guys reccomend. Current Mods: CT Pipes 34 PJ Carbs 21 cc Domes HJR dune/hill port
  8. So i put the 162 main and put the CEL needle in third position, with fresh plugs. Did a 6th gear run pulled it hard. The only thing that scares me is the pipes were really hot, hotter than normal it seems. Still bogs a tiny bit and wants to die, when im not in the powerband (likes it starving for fuel when im at say 1/4 throttle then i go full on WOT) I Suppose i could work around that since its running alot better. Take a look at the photo let me know what you guys think is it good? Attached is the photo of the plug chop of the "New Plugs"
  9. Plug chop shows black but they are old plugs. Does not back fire, kicks over on first kick without using choke. Ill try some 162's tomorrow and fresh plugs, i'll post what the findings are. Thanks for the replies.
  10. I would say most my riding is in the dunes 85 percent or so and 15 percent trail riding. Yes i love shooting the hill on that note. Last time i went to the dunes i could barely pull 4th gear with the 150 main. once i hit the hill 6-7 times in a row got it nice and hot it would pull 4th no problem. when in neutral engine will want to die when i go from 1/4 to full on wot. If i go slowly 1/4 to 1/2 good 1/2 to 3/4 good 3/4 to wot good. Bigger Carbs /Sigh i just bought them darn things went from 30mm keihin PE to the 34 PJ's. A lot of peeps are running 34pj's with more mods than i have though. that why i was thinking main was to small.
  11. Well topic kind of sums it up. Ever since Ive gotten it ported i havent been able to find the right jetting. I started with 150 main jet and CEL needle 4th clip. From 1/4 throttle to max full throttle it bogs and dies. 152 main jet tad bit better. 155 main a bit better than 152. Took it up on a slight incline not much at all on dirt, hit 5th kinda wants to bog but stays in powerband barely, at full throttle. 6th gear it just bogs kinda have to keep pullin the clutch in to get some wheel spin to get it going. So i guess the question is how many sizes should i go up on the main go for 162 then work down? Or start a bit higher? here are the mods/altitude Fresh bore. good psi 145 both jugs. HJR dune/hill port 20cc domes/HJR head CT Racing Pipes Noss intake w/built in crossover 34mm PJ's no air box 10" pods 50 pilot // 155 main // CEL needle 4th clip // air screw 2 turns out Altitude 2800-2900ft Temp 70-80's Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated
  12. Those pipes look exactly like mine silencers and all. I bought mine back in 96 from CT racing. They are the mx torque pipes.
  13. I had problems shifting like that as well turned out it was just the shift shaft
  14. ok i did a fresh rebuild new gaskets everywhere bottom and top end.

  16. I Had same problem on my bike. The problem was low compression but I had no issues starting my bike. Get that compression looked at. I was down 30psi from stock
  17. I have the CT MX Pipes. They hit really hard in the mid/top of powerband. I think you would like them if you did decide to buy them
  18. Thanks for the replies i will try to get them to kevin ASAP
  19. Last week went to glamis had 130 psi. Rode for 12 hrs total ride time was running great. Got home in Tucson area checked compression was at 60psi both cylinders. Took about 5 kicks to start. When i put it in gear when engine is not running i can basically push the shee forward with hardly any resistance i can hear the pistons going up down is that cause of the low compression? I know the reason why compression is down forgot to oil filters and carbs were full of sand. In need of rebuild and port job anyone know of any decent builders in Tucson area? on a $600 budget
  20. Porting is gonna be done within the next few months one of the reason i went for bigger carbs I had 30mm PE carbs on there before but kept on leaking gas from the over flows rebuilt them adjusted them still leaked so i decided to get new carbs. As far as the picture on the spark plug does it look ok to rich / lean? will mess with the needles today ill let u know what i see when i adjust them. thanks for the info
  21. Here is a pic of the spark plug they both look the same
  22. Im not running an air box just 2 uni filter pods
  23. Fiest of let me say hi, I just joined the forum today but ive been a lurker for the past month or so. Just bought some 34mm PJ carbs. The problem im having at the moment is when giving it throttle from 1/4 to WOT it seriously bogs the engine and wants to shutoff. If i move the the throttle slowy from idle to wot it has no problem at all. Have CEL needle's in middle position, 50 pilot jets and 150 mains. I did do a plug chop indicated a choclate brown color on both cylinders. Mods to the engine / altitude should be in signature. The bike will pull all the way through 6th np no hesitation when im WOT Any inputs on this would be greatly appreciated CT racing MX Pipes Reed spacers 34mm PJ carbs Barnett Clutch Twist Throttle 122 psi both cylinders at 2800'
