Hey guys,
Sorry for posting on something you guys have discussed already, but I can't find the info I'm looking for. This is gonna be a long problem discription I hope some one will read it
I have a RZ350 motor thrown in my ATV as some of you may remember.
It has Paul Turner Hi-Rev pipes and a proflow air filter with the lid off. I am running the stock banshee carbs. I am running the stock needle height and 300 mains. I am running a 15 tooth front sproket, and a vitos timing advance. I live near Toronto. <EDIT> Oh yeah I also have a mild port/polish. Basicaly just to clean it up </EDIT>
I'm not sure if 300 mains are right. I have spent tons of hours playing with the jets on this bike and the top end just seems dead flat.
When I run the bike 1-3rd gear feels really strong and snappy. Then as I hit 4-6th I don't know if it's just a huge change in gearing or what but the acceleration takes a big hit. If I lug the motor a bit and snap the throttle, it takes a while for it to rev out. Even if the wheels have broken loose it just seems to take a while to rev.
6th gear is where it feels the flattest. If I hit 6th and I'm holding it white open it feels like the bike should rev more but it's not. It is revving really high but it just doesnt feel the same as when it revs high in the first 3gears the motor just seems different. Also when I run it at 6th gear down the road, say after about 1km or so the heat from the motor starts getting really intense, if I slow down it sounds like the water is boiling.
When I pop the plug, the plug looks dry. On the inside of the plug it has a brown, but it gets darker then a bit greyish towards the tip. I assume maybe it's lean? But then again I have run jets that are fatter and the top end just seems to suffer even worse. I can try get a picture of the tip of the plugs if anyone thinks it might help?
Thanks for anyone who has read through this hehe
