  1. They are nothing new nor are they knockoffs. The ProX cylinder is the LA sleeve cylinder, both companies advertise them as ProX. Eddy puts his billet head and powervalves in them with his portwork. For years the Honda cylinders that ESR sold were the LA Sleeve ProX, untill Eddy had his own castings built. These are a decent quality cylinder and can be made to make good horsepower in the right hands. But, there are more modern cylinders on the market. If anyone wants to try a set I can get them :D

  4. First off, what use/uses is this bike going to see?

I agree with some of the above post. Timing advance will help you make a little more torque. But don't buy a boost bottle.

Pipes and portwork are your two biggest bang for your buck mods. Carbs and reeds are more supporting mods than power building mods, the stock carbs are capable of supporting more power than an unported stock cylinder motor will make. Your current pipes may be great depending on your riding environment, however there are pipes that will make more power and respond better to modifications if you plan to use it for aggressive duning or drag racing of some type.

  5. will those K&N's fit 34MM carbs? do you have any of the angled filters?

K&N Straight Filter 2-1/4" x 5" will fit most aftermarket carbs Retail $44.17 Sell $35.00

If you want the pre-filter with it will be $53.00 On site its $64.00 for set plus shipping

Still have these in stock. That price is per filter, so you'll need 2 to do a pair of 34mm carbs. I can get the angled in, we usually have several sets in stock. But, at the moment I have only one filter.

  6. I've got a set for $250 that have a fresh 64.75 bore and no porting, ready to bolt on. They will be $420 with a set of new Wiseco's. All in stock and ready to ship. Let me know if you want them.

  7. The pipes need to have a certain lenth of stinger pipe to create the propper back pressure. But, yes unsilenced do build more power if properly designed (power difference is so slight you won't be able to tell riding it). As for your question on oof vs inframe, your engine package needs to be designed around whichever pipe you prefer to run. Oof's are capable of more peak power if the engine setup is properly designed for them. But, oof's are more prone to breaking than inframes.

And, in reply to the guy who says you can just remove the packing and it won't make a difference: As stated above, a certain level of backpressure needs to be maintained to achieve peak performance. Burnt out or removed packing will hurt your perfomance some.

  8. Sounds as though your pushrod/ball have welded themselves inside your main shaft. You'll likely have to pull the engine and tear it down. Very rarely can a welded rod/ball be repaired without splitting the cases. You'll need a gasket set, seal kit, case sealant, clutch lockwasher, pushrod and ball. That's if there's nothing else wrong in there when you get it apart. I highly recommend a pancake bearing clutch disengagement adjuster (center of pressure plate), this will help prevent this problem from reoccuring. Also check the shift forks and gear dogs. If it has been shifted with no clutch for any length of time, I wouldn't be surprised if there's damage to some of the transmission components.

  11. Bring your biggest bike bud, and hope Matt doesn't show up, lol.... I think he was hitting 93 up the hill.

When we were out in March Matt's (Tom's)10DM was going consistent 87-88mph. I really hope to give him a better race next time out. We went 83 on the 14 with the wrong gearing and some compression issues. I've got that all fixed now and hoping it has a 90mph pass in it. Too bad this month isn't going to work out for me, I'd really like to get it back out there. Right now I have Pres-Day weekend penciled in.
