well I bought these so i could go riding at silver lake, they have about 4-5 hours riding time on them! I am selling them for $110 shipped! They fit fmf pipes and maybe others?? Nick
-
If you weren't so far I probably would! I just went and looked at an 05 450r today, just want a 4 poker again! Nick
-
it's not that it wasn't fun, just not alot of options up there! Have you ever been to the badlands or haspen acres? All different kinds of terrain to ride on, different trails for different skill levels! I will probably go back again eventually but it wouldn't be my first choice! Nick
-
just got back, wasn't as much fun as I thought it would be! I have more fun riding in dirt, and mud! I also think it coulda been the banshee, I am so used to my old quad (4 stroke) and the torque it had. I actually ended up riding my buddies 400ex more than I rode my own. Nick
-
leaving right now!! Cant wait til tomorrow!!!!
-
zach I think it will be like 6 guys I know there will be a red 400ex and a blue 660 raptor and I beleive another yellow 400ex, I dont really know the other guys or what they are riding! Do they sell flags at the park? Nick
-
Zach, yeah, we are gonna drive up tomorrow night and get a hotel for the night, it's a buddy of mine doing the planning, he lives 2 1/2 hrs south of me (about 20 minutes from the badlands) and wants to get some rest before we ride, he also said you have to go a day in advance to get tickets for the next day you wish to ride  ! I am not sure so I just left the planning for him! Nick

I just bought a set of paddles and they should be here today! AMS Sand Snakes, found them in the classified section! Nick

awesome!! It would be nice to talk to someone else with a shee! I have an 02 black, white, with dark silver hood cover thingy, all the plastic is race cut! so not much there! Maybe I will see you out there then! Any good clubs out there for the later hours?? Nick

I checked my power core 2's and they go straight through. I would rather be safe than sorry so I ordered a set earlier today, as for the drop offs, well i usually always check the area I am riding in before I let loose. Especially now since I have a banshee between my legs! It has been a couple years since I have actually rode a quad in an open area to where I can actually feel the power the machine is capable of making! I know there are plenty of quads out there WAY faster than mine but I just love the stress free feeling it gives me. So anyone else going up this weekend on a shee? All the guys I am riding with have 400ex's and raptor 660's I am the lone 2 stroker! Nick Oh yeah! one more thing: Is there any special rules on the gear to wear?
-
well, I just ordered some sparky's spark arrestors from the local shop, should be here friday before I leave. As for the taillights, I think they are only needed after dark! I dont plan on riding in the dark though. Stupid spark arrestors cost me $148.00! Thanks for the help guys!! This is one of the most helpful forums I am on!!

So, I finally bought a quad a coiuple weeks ago, an 02 banshee! I have never been to silver lake on a quad and its actually been like 11 years since I have been their. So I have read that they are pretty strict. I have a couple concerns with my quad that may affect me getting in! I have fatty pipes on it and I think they maybe a little loud! Does anyone know if they will pass? Thay are new pipes maybe 2 hours on them? my other concern is with the spark arrestors, Do I have these in my pipes or do I have to buy them seperately, fmf fatty gold series pipes! Also, my quad didn't come with a taillight what are the rules on that? I can probably stop at an auto zone and pick up an led strip light or something. Any help would be appreciated. It's a 3 hour drive and I dont want to get up their and have to turn around and leave! Nick

I just picked up a few things and, a maxima mixing bottle (best $4.25 I have spent yet) and some bel ray 2 stroke synthetic oil (ouch! $18.95 a quart) oh well, the salesman at the dealership recommended this brand as he has 2 shee's! I contacted the guy I bought the bike from in regards to the transmission fluid, he said he just uses the type f cheap-o tranny fluid from wal-mart! Is this ok? he said alot of people use it! Should I change it before I go on my weekend trip to silver lake? Nick
-
ok, before you tell me I have already used the search button! To many people giving too many diff. answers. I am fairly new to the banshee, my first quad was a 03 blaster with oil injector so no premix was needed! I then sold that after about 3 months and bought a 400ex, had the stealership put a pipe on it and jet it and called it good! So I am not much of a mechanic, bare with me I just bought an 02 banshee with a motor that was bored .20 over, has new wiseco pistons, new top end bearings, new top end gasket kit, and has had TORS bypass kit installed! The bike also has brand new fmf fatty pipes (gold series) on it. Also I know he was using JP2 synthetic oil with the gas! I have a couple quick questions before I go to silver lake on the last weekend of this month. I know all the above work was done on 7/18/07 and has only about 5 hrs of use on this setup. But I would like to know what I should be mixing my safely, I would rather run rich than lean right?? So I understand that 32:1 is pretty much 4 ounces of oil to every gallon of gas?? Is that right? Also I was thinking of changing the transmission fluid before we go to silver lake, what is the best transmission fluid to use in my setup? And is the JP2 synthetic oil good stuff? Sorry if I sound like a newbie, but I am! Nick

I figured my auto insurance company would have some kind of coverage for atv's! I remember when I first bought my 400ex back in 03 they asked for my insurance info from my auto carrier but I never payed insurance on it or was even billed? I will just call tomorrow and ask them. I was basically looking for theft coverage, I am more of a layed back rider on a quad, so I doubt I would wrap it around a tree or flip it end over end on a hill! Nick

I just bought an 02 banshee yesterday and I absolutely love it !! Now I am nervous about somebody possibly wanting it to make a quick dollar! I bought it in Illinois and I live in Indiana. I have the title but the seller signed where he was supposed to put my info and I dont have a bill of sale either! So my question would be, do I need a title to insure it or just pictures and a vin number? I want to put insurance on it but dont know if I am able too! Nick

well I drove 2.5 hours and picked up my shee!! The drive was long but well worth it, I bought the 02 shee in the craigslist ad I posted! Nick
-
How about this one for $2800.00? http://chicago.craigslist.org/sox/mcy/421701646.html let me know if it sounds good! Nick
-
well I haven't bought it yet! I am supposed to go tomorrow and "buy it" for $2600. The only reason I am kinda leaning towards the 4 stroke is because I know the 2 stroke machines need new top ends every year(s) and I am by no means a 2 stroke mechanic, I am kinda intimidated by the maintanence, not the machine! Also I heard you have to have a pretty deep pocket for the upkeep on the banshee? Nick
-
well I found a kfx400 on craigslist, it's an 05 all stock and comes with a set of paddles for the back and the sand tires for the front mounted on wheels! Is it a good deal or should I stay away from the kfx ltz models? It is very clean and has only like 5 hours on the machine! Other wise my banshee quest continues! Nick
-
well I drove by after I found out the 96 was sold and didn't see it outside the dealership where it usually sits. I always do this, let the good deals slip through my hands! Nick
-
dang it!!! It was sold when I went to buy it! ::
-
Thanks for all the replies! I will definately use your advice on what to check. I am going tomorrow to look at another one also it's a 96 with all new plastics, fresh painted frame, good rubber, fmf fatties, boysen reeds, cool head somethings!!??!! Only thing I didn't like about it was the twist throttle! How is that on a quad? asking price is 1995.00 Overall the 99 was more stock but looked abused, pipes were rusted pretty good in front of the engine, bald tires, squeaky when I sat on it. But it ran really good, the guy told me he is running rich right now since it sat for soo long??? Nick
