  1. I am thinking of buying a Trail Tech clamp from Rocky Mtn to mount my CR highs on. I was wondering how much additional height over stock the clamp adds. basically I like the height of the stock bars but do not like the pull back. I already own a pair of pro taper CR highs that I never installed on my last bike so if I can buy the Trail Tech clamp & use my CR's but be the same height as the stock bars with less sweep I will be in business. Anyone care to measure for me?, if not I know I can buy the Rox risers & accomplish the same thing.
  2. The thought is that if it is too rich it will wash the piston & leave it clean looking. When tuning sleds I always made sure the piston wash was minimal & the burn pattern looked good. You get a feel for it based on conditions & the way the sled runs in addition to the piston wash.
  3. Exactly on snowmobiles you look down the plug hole to see piston wash but on a bike I would just get it warmed up & do the WOT test. I wouldn't waste any time chopping a plug.
  4. Yep, I agree. I have decided not to trade for the Raptor even though I haven't ridden it yet. I spent some time this weekend in the pits loving the Banshee & I am without a doubt hooked. I ordered new bars, +2 control arms, axle & shocks. Here comes the money pit! Plus having this site has been a huge resource, quite honestly most of the guys on the other sites (raptor site) are either half my age or jerk offs, either way they have no clue unlike you guys around here. So whether it is the bike or this site, I am hooked, it is probably a little of both
  5. That bike was located at Motorheads in Sanford, they had a few Shee's that looked OK from a distance but all their other stuff was pretty hammered. I walked past the bike but didn't really look at it carefully. There is a 2003 listed on CL, the guy lives in Standish & I spoke with him last week about the bike, almost traded my YZ for it but he needed cash instead. I would check it out, it sounded nice & solid with low hours. It is all original except for the addition of pipes, I would prefer an original bike for cheap money so I can mod it the way I want. That's exactly what I did in fact & will do if I don't trade it for a Raptor first
  6. So would a Raptor feel any roomier or is like the newer quads? I have never even sat on one but all I have read says that people complain about it being tall & tippy. I am liking the Banshee but either need to get used to it or get something larger.
  7. So does anyone know if the footpegs from a blaster would be lower once installed or if I add a pair of aftermarket race pegs?
  8. Yep, you are 100% correct plus I can't help the fact that my hips were bothering me, maybe I will get used to it but it still feels small & weird at this point.
  9. Hey Guys, I just picked up my first quad & of course had to get the Banshee. I have never ridden a quad before but have had bikes & sleds for the past few years. I got rid of a YZ 426 for this 2001 Banshee, even trade & think it was a great deal. The problem is that I am feeling really cramped on the Banshee, my hips were hurting after riding for an hour today. I am 6'1", 260lbs & old, OK OK FAT & OLD. So anyway, is there anyway to change the seat to footpeg distance? I had lowered pegs & a tall seat on my YZ as well as risers which put me in perfect position. I searched around here & could only find two posts for tall seats & a few for lower pegs. I saw Blaster pegs or AC Pro & IMS offer lower pegs. Will the Blaster pegs do the same thing for a cheap experiment? I do want to retain the heel guards for now until I get used to riding this puppy. For now the bars are fine but either I need a taller seat so my knees aren't higher than my hips or lower pegs, any help? Thanks in advance!
