  1. I had that problem but mine was leaking out close to a tank from just sitting over night. I just cleaned the float needle and it quit leaking. It does still drip while sitting so I just shut the gas off. I'm sure the rebuild kit would take care of it though. I found a kit on ebay for around $30 to do both carbs but it includes jets and everything so I'm sure you could get just the parts to rebuild you floats cheaper.
  2. If you can kick it over by hand, it doesn't matter if you don't hold the throttle open when you check it...you need a new top end. With that little compression, it would be like riding around with a golf cart motor.
  3. I don't have a problem with tearing the motor down to get to the crank, I have a problem finding someone in my area who will weld the crank for me. I have a tig welder but I dont think I trust myself enough to do it. Is it worth it to tear the motor down and search for someone who can weld it for me or should I just wait till I split the fuckin thing and get a stronger aftermarket crank? Also, if I do decide to weld it, anyone have an estimate on what the shop will charge?
  4. I wanna run at around 150-155 psi range. I know that its recommended to get the crank welded, but is it neccessary with this range of psi?
  5. I mostly do fast trail riding, very rarely ride dunes. I would rather leave the engine completely stock for now. Maybe that will change once I am done with this project but for now thats what I want. So you would recommend T5s over T6s? From what I've read, T6s have more hp in all areas.
  6. Currently I am running a 100% stock 03 shee. I bought the bike new in 03 and went to college so I didn't have much time to ride it. After a recent weekend trip duning and the realization that that it is ridiculous to spend 6 grand on a bike you ride once a year, I would like to do some minor mods to the bike and start riding a bit more. I'm not thinking of doing anything too crazy, in fact i'd like to keep things as stock as possible. I mainly don't want something I am gonna have a lot of problems with (tuning and maintenance wise). I was thinking exhaust, getting rid of the air box and get some k&n outers, maybe a cool head and a high flow impeller (i will obviously re-jet the stock carbs when I add the exhaust). For exhaust I was thinking of going with T6's, although I have never heard what they sound like before. With the exhaust, I am mainly looking for the best sound (anything I get will out perform the stock system i'm used to). Nothing drastic, like I said, Toomey, FMF, Pro Circuit, whatever gives the deepest throaty sound. For cool head, I'm thinking 21cc domes so I can run 93. Eventually I will add new arms, axle and shocks. Any opinions or ideas you guys have would be great. Also, has anyone ever tried running 110 octane with lower compression? I've read about needing to run 110 with a compression over 150 or whatever but has anyone tried running it when the compression doesn't call for it? Just curious. Thanks
  7. I don't think that the jet is your problem. I was having trouble with my right carb leaking gas out the overflow because my float was sticking. When I took it apart, I had the same problem you're having. There should be a washer that holds the jet in place. Anyway, I cleaned everything up and it doesn't leak anymore and I'm not having any troubles having the "broken" main jet. Also, it doesn't really sound like your float is the problem as i think someone mentioned. The float sticking shouldn't effect gas flow to the cylinder.
