  1. NICB has free Vin check. Very helpful for what I needed. I guess my 01 isn't stolen. Here's a fresh link https://www.nicb.org/theft_and_fraud_awareness/vincheck
  2. sounds like time for a rebuild, do a compression test
  3. Thanks for the responses, Im gonna play with it a little more this weekend
  4. I just got my banshee back together and am having issues with jetting. Elevation is around 1000ft, temp is 70-80 now. I have 01 with .020 over wiseco pro-lite pistons, cool head 20 cc domes, vf3 reeds, toomey 2-1 air filter box removed, toomey t5s, stock carbs w/ TORS removed. I bought the jet kit from Toomey with the exhaust. All it came with was 270 and 280 mains, and longer needle jets. Following the instuctions from Toomey, I installed the 280 mains(it had 200s in it) and the longer needles with the eclip on the 4th groove. I started it and it was way too rich, lots of wet oil coming from tailpipes, wouldnt idle. So I put the 270's in with the stock needle jets. Now it runs good except at low rpm. From an idle it bogs out like its getting loaded up with fuel when you give it gas. Is this a problem with the pilot jets? The toomey kit didnt come with any, and they said their kit was all I needed. Im starting to think otherwise. Any help is appreciated. Thanks EDIT: I also have adjustable stator plate that hasnt been installed yet, I'm not sure if this will make any difference with jetting.
  5. Im not sure what you mean an "outerwears cover for the airbox"? R u saying to cut (not remove) the airbox to fit the pod filters? And to put outwears on the pod filters? Scrap the lid? Or am I missing what youre talkin about? Anyone use the Uni pod filters? Heard the K&Ns can let dust particles in.. I live in southern ohio, dust could be an issue at time, i.e. Haspin Thanks for the input
  6. Thanks... haha Its not a 4x4, but im not afraid to play in the woods, or get wet... Have you heard anything about the Uni Pod filters flowing better than the K&N's? I suppose the KN's would hold up better to rain and weather. Ohh, and did you check my "joined date", just never posted til now. Most of the time someone has already asked what I'm looking for.. Great website for valuable info...
  7. I wanted to get some opinions on POD filters from the community here. Ive heard some good about them, but I'm not sure that removing the airbox is a good idea. I have an 01 banshee, soon to be .020 over, t5's, coolhead, vf3, +4 timing, with stock carbs for now.. Is it worth stripping the airbox and risking the filter getting soaked? Uni or KN? Should i wait til i upgrade carbs? Or should i stay stock or what? Thanks in advance.
